ABOUT HAMILTON CENTER, INC.

Established in 1971, Hamilton Center, Inc. is a regional behavioral health system serving children, adolescents, adults, and families in central and west central Indiana. Though the organization does not state clearly which of its many treatments, programs, and services are available at its Plainfield location, set conveniently within minutes of Indianapolis International Airport, it does cater to a wide clientele of military veterans, LGBTQ individuals, and those seeking treatment for substance abuse and mental health disorders. The organization offers outpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs, case management, educational programming, crisis intervention and transitional living services for clients dealing with addiction and co-occurring disorders.

Detox is not available.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Treatment at Hamilton Center – Plainfield begins with an assessment to determine the appropriate level of care. The facility has a wide range of specializations available for assessment and treatment staff members. Clients are assigned to case managers that help develop a personalized treatment plan and guide clients through treatment.

Hamilton Center offers addiction services targeted at identifying and addressing the underlying behavioral health concerns. If needed, clients have access to the 24/7 crisis intervention unit to help them resolve immediate issues and begin treatment.

For those with more moderate issues, the center offers both standard and intensive outpatient (IOP) levels of care. While standard outpatient care involves individual and group therapy as well as educational lectures and case management services, the IOP track makes use of the unique Matrix Model.

The IOP includes three weekly two-hour sessions held over the course of 16 weeks. IOP clients take part in small group therapy sessions capped at 15 participants, training in relapse prevention, family education, 12-step meetings, and other self-help and educational groups. Attendance is mandatory, and clients may access drug screenings on-site, at an additional $25.

Beyond its inpatient, residential, and outpatient services, Hamilton Center also offers LGBTQ-affirming therapy, an eight-hour public education course titled Mental Health First Aid, employment services, and programming for military veterans. As with adults, the center runs intensive and non-intensive outpatient care for children and teens with addiction concerns, as well as Early Childhood Services for young children with emotional and behavioral issues.
