ABOUT HIGHLAND RIVERS HEALTH – FLOYD RECOVERY AND WELLNESS CENTER

Highland Rivers Health is a prominent healthcare provider in Georgia, offering comprehensive mental and behavioral health services for individuals of all ages. The Floyd Recovery and Wellness Center, located in Rome, is one of our 12 statewide facilities. We also have centers in Cedartown, Dalton, and Cartersville. At our Floyd location, we provide an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults struggling with substance abuse, which includes case management.

In addition, our facility offers substance use and addiction recovery services for children and adolescents, as well as a specialized residential treatment program for certain women. Please note that detox services are not provided on-site; however, we operate a crisis stabilization unit in Cedartown, approximately 25 miles away.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Our substance abuse IOP at Highland Rivers Health follows a three-phase approach, with each phase lasting one to two months. As clients progress through the program, the number of weekly treatment hours gradually decreases, while their involvement in 12-step meetings increases. Throughout the course of treatment, all participants are required to provide attendance verification and submit to random drug testing.

Clients can expect to spend a significant portion of their day engaged in addiction education, coping and life skills workshops, and the application of 12-step principles. The remaining time is dedicated to group therapy sessions. Occasionally, clients may also participate in experiential learning exercises, recreational events, and field trips. The typical length of treatment is 13 to 26 weeks. If necessary, our IOP offers medication management. We strongly encourage family participation and are open to including loved ones in a client’s treatment plan upon request.

Our outpatient services for children and adolescents include individual, group, and family counseling, as well as support, education, and referral. We also operate an Adolescent Clubhouse that provides addiction education, prevention, and recovery programs.

The residential Women’s Outreach Program is specifically designed for women who are pregnant, postpartum, or parenting children age 13 and younger, and who require assistance with substance use or dependency. This program offers individual, group, and family counseling, testing, treatment, education, relapse prevention, aftercare, GED preparation, employment assistance, therapeutic child care, and transitional housing.

This place seems to be a popular place and has probably helped others. The only experience I have is with my friends' failed attempt at rehabilitation. He is dead now (cancer, not OD). It didn't seem to do any good, although I realize the patient has to participate in their own care, and he didn't.
