ABOUT ST. JOSEPH MERCY CHELSEA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES

St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea hospital is a 133-bed not-for-profit hospital, one of five hospitals and numerous other locations operated in southeast Michigan by the St. Joseph Mercy Health System. Alongside a full range of medical services, St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea offers a behavioral health department that provides inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics struggling with a range of mental and behavioral health disorders, including problematic substance use.

The hospital is located on Main Street in the small town of Chelsea.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The center uses a multidisciplinary team and evidence-based methodologies such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).

Outpatient treatment for adults struggling with problematic substance use consists of thorough evaluations, referrals, individual counseling, and groups, including a group for older adults.

For adolescents, the center can provide an extended evaluation program, consisting of six sessions spread over three weeks, and ending with a recommendation for appropriate further treatment. Adolescents can also participate in group counseling, and there’s a prevention group for parents, too.
