ABOUT U-TURN FOR CHRIST

Located in the historic town of Lebanon, Penn., U-Turn for Christ is a faith-based treatment center for those struggling with substance abuse. Though there is a women’s center as well, the Lebanon location specifically treats men struggling with addiction, placing it among 46 percent of Pennsylvania facilities with specific programming for men. One of 143 residential centers (27 percent) in the state of Pennsylvania, the program’s treatment is broken into two phases.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

U-Turn for Christ’s Lebanon facility separates its treatment track into two distinct phases. In Phase-1 of the program, participants spend a minimum of two months at the facility, known as “the ranch.” During this phase, men are required to disconnect, and they don’t have access to phones, televisions, or computers.

Bibles are given to each resident. In addition to group and individual sessions, daily routine includes time for personal devotions and group Bible study. Daily work assignments are also part of the discipleship program. Through various churches and ministries the men will learn to work together as a team while under pastoral oversight.

Once a man completes two-months, he can chose to participate in Phase-2 which lasts an additional six months. Family members are allowed to participate in the recovery process on Sundays. The families may attend church with the loved one spend time with them in the afternoon.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

To date, there is little information about the staff at U-Turn. There is support staff in the form of volunteers and religious staff as well.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Little is explained on the facility’s website, however, photos show a bright building that offers patients separate rooms. The “ranch” boasts a chapel, group therapy rooms, and a carpentry shop as well.

  • U Turn is an awesome place, but could use better facility structuring. Helping guys to know God and keeping them busy and having them help out in the community all of the time. Needs better food, and better area/community around it.
