Founded in 1981, the Boonville Valley Hope facility offers residential addiction treatment for men and women ages 16 and up. The facility takes a 12-step approach to recovery, and combines AA’s principles with psycho-educational and small-group counseling to give each client a solid foundation for long-lasting sobriety. ABOUT VALLEY HOPE – BOONVILLE

Nonprofit Valley Hope operates 16 residential and outpatient treatment facilities spread throughout seven states. Valley Hope – Boonville, founded in 1981 and located in central Missouri, midway between Kansas City and St. Louis, offers medical detox, residential treatment, and continuing care for adults ages 16 and older.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Treatment at Valley Hope – Boonville begins with a consultation with a qualified admissions counselor and addiction specialist. Clients are assessed for their individual needs, and enrolled in the appropriate programs. Clients needing detox services begin the detox program and transition to the residential program once completed.

Treatment uses the 12-Steps in a multidisciplinary program that aims to address clients’ physical, mental, social, and spiritual needs. Valley Hope follows the disease model of addiction, and aims to provide compassionate, understanding care. Clients participate in individual and group counseling. Spiritual services are also included, as well as medication assisted treatment as needed.

Clients also participate in educational coursework to learn more about addition and coping methods. Education courses are led by leaders that are active in the 12-steps program and have completed rehab as well.

Valley Hope advises a 30-day stay in residential treatment, but allows for variation depending on the client’s needs. The average length of stay is 17 to 30 days. Most clients begin with the residential program and move to continuing care services as a step-down process.

Family participation is encouraged throughout treatment. Family therapy and small group sessions are made available to clients that need to rebuild their family connections. Family addiction education courses are also available.

  • My husband stayed 3 weeks, it appears after $10,000 paid by insurance, we owe $6,000. You cannot heal the mind and body while eating sugar, dairy, gluten, processed meats, etc. They do not teach outside of their AA box. My husband has been a roller coaster since he has been home (just like he is when drinking/on drugs). But my biggest complaint is that I believe we got head AND body live from the facility. We are a large family and it has been a nightmare in attempting to rid our family of these parasites. The stress has only increased since his stay.

  • Its a facility that wants to help you, if your really ready to make a change in your addiction. Has a structured environment but a relaxed atmosphere to help with your steps toward recovery. I would Recommend it to anyone that needs help. Staff are very helpful.
Our goal is to meet patients where they are at and work with them to accomplish their goals for a happy, more fulfilling life, which no doubt includes sobriety.

  • I attended Valley Hope in 2006 and attempted to go again in 2015. Due to an inept admissions person I drove over two hours only to be turned away at the door. Drug and alcohol addiction is a life or death issue and when huge mistakes are made by staff it makes me question if the facility is equipped to deal with such a serious issue.

  • I thought it was great facility. It was clean, affordable and there was excellent family participation. However, there could have been more holistic options available.

  • There is way too much down time when there is lots of activities that could be offered. No access to television, phones, work out machines, etc.. was a downfall. However, despite this it was a wonderful treatment center.

  • Great program. Even has RN's administering medications. You rarely see this in tx. Most of the time it is simply a med. tech.

  • My counselor was very good at her job. The groups were led my the counselors rather than people that didn't have experience. Detox is good. Medication assisted treatment is available. They allow you to go to outside meetings & the meetings they go to are some of the best I have attended. The facility has a lot of outdoor area to walk around including woods in the back. You sleep in very nice cabins. When not in group there is always something going on with the clients, you get a very solid support network. You can smoke anytime(unless you are in group) There is a walmart nearby if you ever need anything like a toothbrush and you can have your own personal snacks, soda, and coffee. Valley hope offers a very personal experience. Its obvious they care about their clients which is different than most Tx places that see their clients a dollor signs rather than individual people. My counselor has kept up with my progress and after a year clean you get to go back for a ceremony that celebrates your clean time. They really help you with an aftercare plan, getting into a sober living house, and they have intensive outpatient in Booneville and St. Louis
