Located on the aptly named Serenity Hill in the Hudson Valley, Cornerstone of Rhinebeck is a residential rehabilitation facility that serves individuals struggling with substance abuse. The Rhinebeck rehab facility is part of the Cornerstone Treatment Facilities Network, which has been in operation for more than 40 years and maintains another facility in Fresh Meadows, N.Y. Clients develop tools for healthy and happy sober lives, emphasizing dignity and self-esteem. TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Cornerstone of Rhinebeck begins rehabilitation services beginning with an initial assessment. An individual treatment plan is developed to guide each client through the rehabilitation process.Key points such as biological, psychological, and social needs are examined to develop a comprehensive view of the client’s needs. Then, clients that need detox services will be admitted to the inpatient detox program. It is overseen by qualified medical staff that can treat cannabinoid, K2, and opioid withdrawal. The detox unit is limited to six beds and has 24-hour detox management staff members to oversee detox services.

Cornerstone of Rhinebeck uses evidence-based therapies to treat addiction. The facility provides self-help groups, educational courses, and wellness recreation combined with medical support such as methadone or Suboxone maintenance. During the course of a rehabilitation stay at Cornerstone-Rhinebeck, clients are likely to participate in cognitive-behavioral therapy and 12-step meetings.

Specialized therapy programs are also offered for anger management and developing sober living skill. Coinciding special programs for families, significant others, and friends are also offered. Wellness therapies are used to provide physical rehabilitation for clients. Yoga, zumba, and other physical activities are encouraged to aid in the overall rehabilitation process.

Before being discharged from the facility, clients participate in aftercare planning to facilitate a continued recovery. Family involvement is encouraged in the process to help clients reestablish strong family connections and create a support system. According to the facility’s website, staff members include medical professionals and state-credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselors. Other program staff members include yoga and other physical activity instructors.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Residents stay in a 96-bed, stone and wood building on the edge of Silver Lake. Cornerstone of Rhinebeck is located on thirty-two acres of secluded and scenic landscape that features lush trees and views of nearby mountains. Staff members will arrange transportation for clients in the surrounding area, and the area is accessible by major highways and public transportation.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Two alumni polled by Best-rehabs.com to date provided three- and four-star ratings for the facility’s accommodations, meals and nutrition, holistic offerings, level of staff support, facility cleanliness, and connectivity. Both indicated that they would recommend the facility.

The alumni praised the staff members. One anonymous alum commented that the program is well staffed but wrote: “there therapeutic practices are weak,” also describing treatment methods as “a little untrdtional.”

Two of the loved ones gave meals and nutrition five out of five stars while the other loved one gave only three stars. In general, relatively lower ratings were given for the facility’s holistic offerings and counseling options than the cleanliness of the facility and treatment effectiveness.

One anonymous family member mentioned difficulty in communicating with staff and another, E.T., expressed a need for more counseling and more financial assistance.

very secure, rehab not long enough should be 90 days min with the person going to a site watched alternate facility after. Very secure unable to get any info even though u know the person is there u have to wait for the person to actually call you

  • My exhusband needed help asap from what I did see of the place and the programs offered it was where he needed to be, but he did not stay long enough to fully be rehabilitated, this is not the facilities fault but his own.
