At Behavioral Wellness and Recovery of Pennsylvania, we are dedicated to serving as a catalyst of empowerment and optimism for individuals, families, and communities impacted by substance use disorders.
ABOUT BEHAVIORAL WELLNESS & RECOVERY
Providing a variety of programs for individuals struggling with substance abuse, Behavioral Wellness and Recovery (BWR) is a rehabilitation center focused on family-centered care, situated in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Clients, along with their friends and family members in their social support networks, participate in personalized treatment plans designed to facilitate healing and prepare them for long-term recovery. Services include partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), outpatient (OP), and community-based aftercare programs. BWR does not offer on-site detoxification; however, it maintains strong relationships with local detox centers and assists in facilitating admissions and a seamless transition to BWR programs.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
BWR’s addiction treatments are rooted in evidence-based therapies. Men and women living with the consequences of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders have access to dialectical behavior and cognitive behavioral therapies, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and other holistic practices, including 12-step programs, nutrition, meditation, group counseling sessions, art therapy, and exercise.
PHP represents the highest level of care at BWR. For clients in PHP or IOP, BWR collaborates with sober living homes near the facility to provide accommodation during treatment. In PHP, clients spend several hours each day at BWR engaging in treatment. Select patients in the IOP may continue with work or school while enrolled in BWR’s services. Outpatient programs run seven days a week as individuals progress from an initial assessment of their condition and history into intensive, traditional therapy complemented by positive, sober recreational activities. Specialized care is available for clients with PTSD and substance abuse.
BWR places high importance on involving family members and loved ones in the rehabilitation process, taking into account their role in long-term recovery. Family therapies are offered at all stages of care.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
BWR’s director holds a master’s degree in professional counseling and education. The staff consists of certified alcohol and drug addiction counselors, a psychologist, licensed social workers, professional clinical counselors with master’s degrees, recreation and family therapists. As needed, clients receive on-site services from medical and psychiatric staff.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Recommended sober living housing is provided in a nearby historic building. Recovery housing is monitored around the clock, and all clients have roommates.
