ABOUT FOUR CORNERS BEHAVIORAL HEALTH – MOAB CLINIC

Four Corners Behavioral Health (FCBH) is a private non-profit substance abuse treatment facility in Utah. It serves the residents of Carbon County, Emery County, Green River, and Grand County. The facility, located in Moab, Utah, offers outpatient and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for adults and adolescents seeking treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.

Aside from its substance abuse treatment, FCBH provides sober living facilities, medication management, evaluations, crisis and emergency services, a residential program, and outpatient services for mental health-related conditions through multiple facilities in the area.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

For substance use disorders, FCBH provides outpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP) services, placing each client at the lowest appropriate level of care. Similar outpatient services are available at 77.4% of facilities, and 52.8% of facilities offer IOP programs in the U.S. The length of treatment varies according to the individual client’s needs. As the client progresses, a team of specialists conducts follow-up evaluations to determine if the client is ready to move to a different level of care.

The organization uses evidence-based therapy methods. These therapies include traditional talk therapies for individuals, groups, and families. Couples counseling, which is available at 76.6% of Utah facilities, is also available. According to a 2016 SAMHSA survey, FCBH is one of 51.9% of facilities in the state that offers women-specific counseling, and one of 49.8% that offers men-specific counseling.

Clients meet with counselors multiple times each week to address specific recovery needs in a therapeutic setting where a counselor can guide and facilitate cognitive changes.

Psychoeducation is also included in FCBH’s treatment plans to help clients better understand addiction and mental disorders. By learning about these conditions, clients are better able address their actions and avoid the influences of addictions.

The facility can also provide referrals to other facilities and programs as needed. FCBH operates multiple facilities in the area that specialize in different treatment methods including residential programs, programs for children, and mental health services. If needed, a client can be referred to specialized counselors for additional treatment.

Medication management and case management are available for clients as a part of the treatment programs. Case management is widely regarded as an important part of recovery, and is used in 82.2% of facilities in the country. Clients work with a case manager to determine the best treatment plan and to coordinate treatments. The case manager also works with specialists to reevaluate treatment plans as each client progresses.
