ABOUT 449 RECOVERY

Based in Southern California’s Mission Viejo, 449 Recovery provides long-term outpatient treatment and upscale sober living housing for individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. The family-owned and -operated rehab organization prioritizes support for loved ones in the recovery process, 12-step principles, and experiential therapy. In-house medical detox support is available, according to the facility’s website.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The 449 Recovery rehab program includes three phases, beginning with a partial hospitalization program (PHP) meeting five full days a week. The second phase is an intensive outpatient program (IOP), which requires five hours of daily sessions. Once clients transition into the final phase, they attend treatment 15 hours each week. Treatment plans are individualized and most last between 30 and 120 days.

Clients attend Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or another support group of their choice, such as SMART Recovery. One individual counseling and one psychiatrist session week are scheduled. These and group sessions use a variety of treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and psychodrama. Groups address such topics as communication, spirituality, vocation, and relapse prevention. Information provided by 449 Recovery to Best-rehabs.com also references equine therapy, massage, and brain scanning.

The center’s family counseling services assist individual family members as well as the family unit. The facility takes pride in its alumni network, which features bimonthly groups, social events, and interaction with current clients. Family involvement is encouraged.

According to its website, the founder and several other staff at 449 Recovery are in recovery themselves. The facility’s 10 clinical team members hold various levels of certification in drug and alcohol counseling (CDAC); some are master’s-degreed. A board certified psychiatrists serves as a consultant.
