ABOUT A ROAD TO RECOVERY

A Road to Recovery (ARTR) is an adult treatment facility located in Port St. Lucie, Fla., just north of West Palm Beach. Our facility offers residential and outpatient treatment services based on the 12-Steps. We have on-site detoxification services and provide support for co-occurring disorders.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Upon admission, all clients receive a medical evaluation, physical assessment, and medication review. The core residential program has an average duration of 28 days and includes group and individual therapy, recreational activities, and educational courses on anger management, life skills, and relapse prevention. Our therapy approaches include the 12-Steps, motivational therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and craving or urge minimization. Massage therapy is also available.

ARTR offers regular weekly family programming and client outings such as visits to the beach, bowling, movies, and off-site 12-step meetings. Our outpatient program focuses on relapse prevention, spirituality and meditation, resume building, job searching, and provides yoga instruction and medication management with a psychiatrist.

Graduates of our programs are encouraged to attend weekly alumni meetings.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

ARTR has a CEO with over 30 years of experience in clinical treatment. Our staff also includes a psychiatrist, a licensed clinical social worker, a licensed mental health counselor, and various support staff.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Our facility provides a setting similar to a college campus rather than a standard institutional environment. Clients in the 44-bed residential program reside in supervised two-bedroom apartments (private rooms are available) and handle their own cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping. Other amenities include patios, a fitness center, and a swimming pool.

Love everyone that works at a road to recovery this treatment center truly care about their clients.
My son was homeless in west palm beach and had been through so many centers all over that area. I was feeling hopeless. I reached out this ARTR and staff assured me he would be taken care of. So on a whim, I sent him here. I wasn't lied to! They took my son in, got him food and a bed. He seen a therapist every day, great group sessions. The other places took him kayaking and on boats BUT WHAT DOES THAT DO?? This place is practical I have my son back today. He is over ten months clean!!! This is a miracle and I have to thank everyone at a Road To Recovery. Thank god and thank you!!!
This place is a low quality treatment center. Yes, they do take a lot of people who have little to no money (or a car) and that sounds great but what happens is, the people who do pay full price or have good insurance policies suffer because there is no money for any amenities. I have been told that they can survive on 12 insurance policies at any time. This place does nothing for the clients, they only go to the beach once a week and if they have enough people, they go to the gym only 2 times a week. They do not have any other activities for the clients and they don’t go on any outings (movies, kayak, bowling, equine therapy ect). You only get 50$ a week in grocery money and you only shop at Winn-Dixie. They have tube TV’s in the houses, no flat screens, no internet, no Netflix, no hulu, just basic cable...The clients run this place and they know it, it is like a zoo there. Clients get to choose when there discharge dates are, not clinical and they caterer to couples. They have little to no structure, the building is disgusting because they have never hire a cleaning crew. ...There clinical team is weak and turnover is high (6 counselors in 6 months)...They fired great employees on black Friday because of budgeting issues, only give employees 5 PTO days after they have completed a year. For the past 2 years there have been no holiday bonus, Christmas parties and this year, there was no new year’s paid holiday. ...They leased out their new detox to their rival treatment center and lost complete control of it. They made multiple promises of better positions, raises, and opportunities to multiple employees and nothing was given after they leased the detox...Do your research and find a better place to get recovery.
