At The Recovery Village, we maintain a highly professional atmosphere with positive reinforcement to help clients achieve and maintain sobriety.

ABOUT THE RECOVERY VILLAGE

Located in Umatilla, Florida, The Recovery Village offers residential treatment for individuals struggling with substance abuse and eating disorders. Clients from across the country undergo rehabilitation at our main facility in Umatilla, as well as at additional locations in Florida, California, and Washington.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Intake at The Recovery Village begins with a thorough bio-psychosocial assessment. Detox is typically followed by up to 45 days of residential or day treatment, along with continued outpatient treatment, transitional living as needed, and individualized aftercare. Some clients may also receive medication assisted therapy.

Our program combines evidence-based treatment modalities with experiential therapies to promote holistic health. Our programming includes education, individual and group sessions, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, 12-step meetings, meditation, equine therapy, nutritional counseling, gender-specific treatment, and fitness therapies. Therapy addresses various topics relevant to recovery, such as grief, assertiveness, trauma, relationships, and smoking cessation. We encourage family participation and offer phone sessions for those unable to visit the facility.

  • The person who called me and got me into TRV did his job and said what he had to to get me to come into treatment. However, the recovery village did an amazing job managing my case. They were excellent with time management, tending to each patient in a timely manner and they really cared about helping me get clean. I’ve been to 3 treatments before the this and TRV’s staff was BY FAR the most caring and involved in my treatment. The therapist was amazing. Counselors were terrific. Of course there’s the occasional Tech who isn’t perfect, but every treatment on earth has those kind of people. I’d recommend TRV to anyone I know who needs help. Stay for the whole 30+ days and I promise you won’t regret it.
My stay was for much greater than 30 days. First and foremost...TRV saved my life. The food is good, not 5 star. The furnishings should ne updated. There should be more outdoor time. As others have said, they are understaffed. Some of the techs are recovering, themselves, they are caring but strict. Following rules is what many addicts need to learn. Some techs are disrespectful of older clients. This is a dual diagnostic facility. The therapeutic side is fantastic the medical side is sketchy. Detox is very good. Some of the nursing staff is extremely professional. I was completely ignored by two night nurses, when I had a reaction to naltrexone. On the whole I recommend TRV. I left far more physically and spiritually healthy.
I went here to get help for an addiction the staff was excellent the food was great the best part of this facility is a women that works in the kitchen serving food . She is always friendly and even with one of the other kitchen workers being mean and rude to her she always has a welcoming smile and always goes above and beyond to help accommodate the clients and other staff. She always has the clients best interest at heart they need more workers like her and less like the young guy that thinks she is worthless

  • I don't understand the negative comments. My daughter has been there for over a week and she loves it! The change in her attitude and demeanor are already remarkable. She can't say enough wonderful things about the staff and facility. She has a few weeks of treatment to go, but she is sober and happy and positive. So far, I would highly recommend this place for yourself or a loved one.

  • Highly understaffed, high calorie food, smoking facility. Most rooms have no clock or t.v., younger clients care more about hooking up. A lot of personal belongings go missing. Non locking doors on rooms. Therapy is great. Staffers are not respectful of older clients.Mostly it is financially and night staff wise deficient. Try a better place. 92,000.00 for 30 days is ridiculous and not worth the care.
The Recovery Village never wants to get a negative review from a former patient or a patient's family but understands that they will happen from time to time, and we always want to hear feedback, even negative, from people. Some of these complaints are part of the environment we want to provide, where healing is the top priority rather than outside distractions. We are glad to hear you had positive feelings about the therapy but saddened to hear you had negative experiences in other key areas. We as a staff will look into ways to improve our services and customer service.

  • They have sales representatives that get the clients. They make promises they don't keep. They lie to you. They overcharge you. This place is a ripoff, there are other much more qualified caring facilities available.I was told my son would meet with a therapist 3 times a week before entering. Once he got there I found out it was going to be only two. The therapists would not return phone calls/emails. They have a salesperson lure you in with inaccurate information. It's very sad when you're at such a devastated point and the lies and false promises given by this facility. I don't know how they are still in business.

  • Some employees are great. Some just seem to be bothered by the clients. First walking into this facility I looked around the admission area. Dirty, dusty, papers and trash on floor. First impression. What in hell did I get myself into? After being admitted was shown to my room. Which was shared with two other woman. Stayed for five days. The food at every meal was a one star! So please if you think you are going to get healthy nutitious meals, you're not. Don't be persuaded by Kasey with the 1-800 number. She is full of lots and lots of dishonesty. You have to stash food in between meals, because none is offered except for chips and granola bars. Healthy? There are so many other better options for detox available. So please do your homework and keep checking differant places. This is a two star at best. Really nothing more to add than the earlier statements

  • The Recovery Village - Umatilla is one of the best treatment centers I've been to, and I've been to rehab multiple times over the years - thankfully this was my last. The equine therapy staff and facility was so amazing, as was the staff and counseling I received there. Obviously you still have to want help to succeed and stay sober, but TRV is somewhere I would recommend over and over again! Thanks for changing my life.... I will never be the same!

  • Counselors were great, only saw a Doctor when I was admitted and one time a couple of weeks into the program. The people who take care of you on a daily basis are mostly rude and tend to ignore you when requesting things like toilet paper or garbage bags etc. etc. The rooms are OK, not luxurious by any stretch of the imagination. Pool is not heated. Food is so bad I wouldn't feed it to my dog.

  • This place helped change my life. I'm forever grateful to the staff and counselors. I'm truly amazed at how well run this facility is from top to bottom. If you're ready to put in the work then they'll be happy to provide the tools necessary to deal with life's everyday challenges, help you set up a sound structure that will give you the best chance at sobriety, and give you the skills needed to take advantage of the opportunities sobriety will grant you. If you just want a vacation and people to feel sorry for you then look elsewhere. The time I spent at TRV was some of the most rewarding and painstaking work I've ever done. It wasn't easy and there were times I wanted to give up and thought very ill of their methods. I might not have gotten what I wanted initially in a treatment facility, but in the end it was apparent I got what I needed.

  • The Orlando Recovery Center is a step above a jail...Detox patients have to live on the 1st floor. They can never leave their rooms except to go to group or outside for a supervised smoke break. Patients can't even go for a simple walk around the facility unless the are accompanied by a BHT. The BHTS all want to quit because they can't stand the administration. No snacks allowed in the rooms. Sodas are rashioned out once a week from 8pm to 8:30pm, like it's a third world country. When or IF your family visits the BHTs have to literally stand over you during the visit. I mean literally stand so close to you that you can barely breathe. Then they do breathalyzer and UA as if they weren't just watching your every move. You can only use the telephone on certain days. You can even go to church unless you are on PHP level. You move to PHP when your insurance runs out or refuses to pay for residential anymore. You can even use the gym while on residential level. No nail Polish on any level. Just complete bs. I don't recommend the Orlando facility to my worst enemy. There are way better programs out there.

DO NOT GO!!!!! My son went to the Orlando facility, what a joke. They lied about what they offer. There is no massage therapy, no acupuncture, counselors that are recovering addicts. The place doesn't have a picture on the wall or color to the place. The food is absolutely terrible. I wasted air fare to get him down there and then they wouldn't give him a ride to the airport when he was leaving. He knew no one. This place is a total joke. Stay Away!!!!
STAY AWAY , PLEASE !!! BEWARE you are in for a rude awaking !! And Not in a good awakening either !! Good luck to all who has gotten this far

The techs were rude wasn't paid enough and didn't want to be there. The nurses and doctors there dont communicate clearly about the needs of the individuals who stay there! The place is filthy, with bugs. Not organized what so ever. I do not recommend this place at all, I had to leave and receive treatment elsewhere.

  • I would strongly recommend against sending a family member or friend to this facility. The staff are not caring and disrespectful, surprising given the sensitive nature of helping people with addiction issues. They do not have the patient at the center of their care and their service and level of responsiveness was beyond negligent. From their director, to the doctor, the team at Recovery Village was consistently non-responsive and non-caring during the process of admitting one of my family members…From saying they could arrange transportation and then not to losing my family member's belongings to taking hours to do an intake because their computer system was down, etc. it was a constant stream of mistakes. Their treatment of my family member was so serious and poor that I am filing a complaint with the Florida Department of Health. Please save your family and loved ones much time and heartache and stay away. There are many other wonderful facilities and treatment options…Recovery Village is not one of them.
Stay as far away from these facilities as possible! They say they accept insurance but they don't . We were all set to transfer our teenage son to the Orlando location . The facility called us daily for 2 weeks telling us we were all set with insurance. When the time came for us to transfer him suddenly things changed. Th ey told us we would have to be private pay because our insurance wouldn't cover his treatment. But, oddly enough, they never even contacted either of our insurance companies and they never requested his medical records for a mandated review prior to any decision making regarding admission and insurance coverage. When we requested to speak to someone in charge no one would return our calls. The staff goes out of their way pretending to care about the the potential residents but the reality is this facility is all about the almighty dollar. Recovery Village is not a treatment facility it's a big business that takes advantage of our most fragile population .... Those with mental health and substance abuse problems . Go elsewhere....anywhere but Recovery Village.
I went in blind. I was lied to about what I was getting myself into. I've been on methadone maintenance for 11yrs straight without stopping and on xanax for 9yrs straight without missing a day. Everything was prescribed. This place had me see a total of 6 doctors bcuz only 2 were full time and the rest changed weekly. I was in detox alone for a month and I was worse going to residential than when I came in. You cannot undo a decade of maintained medication in a week or two. It was ridiculous. My blood pressure and heart rate never went normal and I slept maybe 30mins to an hour every 4-5 days. Telling this to so called doctors without any changes in meds. Honestly the medical director told me that they weren't for me but bcuz they think that they are equipped for everything they made it impossible to get home. I begged to get to the ER and I finally was taken by ambulance. I left after 49 days AMA so insurance doesn't pay but it's worth it.
This place was horrible!! I have been to treatment a few times now and this place was by far the worst. They take all of your hygiene belongings and give you some [poor] jail house type tooth brush and shampoo. They also take your cigarettes from you and have designated smoke breaks which is dumb in my opinion. When you are coming off drugs and alcohol it's nice to be able to smoke a cigarette when you feel like you need one. ... The food was terrible and always cold. The groups were a joke and the rooms were over crowded. They made me stay in detox for two weeks because of how crowded it was. ... Very unorganized facility and I would never recommend this place to anyone that needs help because you wont get it here.

  • I completed treatment here in May 2015. I can honestly say that this facility and staff have helped me turn my life around. I believe that this facility is very comfortable, all the staff were genuinely concerned about my recovery, medical assistance was top-notch, and even the food was agreeable. Many amenities were available on-site, and the outings were pleasurable and geared toward recovery. The atmosphere here was structured but comfortable, and made what could have been a bad experience into a positive, rewarding one. I would definitely recommend The Recovery Village!

  • The admission folks must work on commission because they were calling me several times at day to find out when I was coming. Even though they knew my medical problems before I came they were totally at a loss to handle them and released me, leaving me at the hospital without any way home. Staff was non responsive and unprofessional. Their claims to treat dual diagnosis is totally bogus. Mostly drug and alcohol detox.

  • This facility is about helping people heal, giving them direction and getting back to living. The employees from top to bottom were all very caring and helpful. They create an environment where one can heal. However, this will sound silly but, the food wasn't great. But this wasn't really a big deal as I wasn't here for a culinary experience.
I was totally treated improperly. ... They didn't hesitate to charge me though, even with the added expense of a hospital stay. I would never reccomend this place, even to someone I did not like!

One of the most unprofessional, disorganized facilities I have ever experienced. No communication ... lazy, uncaring staff.... Save your $$ and go somewhere else unless you're looking for a spring break atmosphere. If you're serious about recovery this is NOT the place to be.

  • TRV does not train staff to handle emergencies that become physical putting staff and clients at constant risk. They prefer to call Umatilla Police for this and Umatilla prefers to arrest rather than counsel. A good idea at first that has become a cash grab for Goldman Sacs and Advanced Recovery System. BTW no such thing as a completely pain free detox.

The clinical and medical teams are highly knowledgeable and truly care about the work they do and the patients that they care for....an investment brought in new Directors who have some credentials as former therapists but...no leadership skills...Before this facility was on the verge of being a successful program...once the money came in and the new administration was put in place all progress was reversed. The staff that remains constantly struggles with an unhealthy environment and terrible leadership while trying their best to serve their patients.

  • This place truly saved my life. It was so great to be around others who understood what I was going through... and the fact that I had one on one therapy multiple times per week was really helpful. I didn't realize I had so many underlying issues that were a big cause to my addiction. I needed that one on one time to really be able to honestly open up and discover myself. I feel blessed every day that I was able to go to this facility. I am now inspired to help other people thanks to the compassionate staff members at this place. Highly recommended to anyone who is serious about recovery.
