The evidence-based treatment program at Recovery Associates is designed to help teens and adult men and women achieve sobriety through the use of clinically-proven therapies, including individual, group and family counseling. The goal is to heal the wounds of substance abuse and assist clients in building a more satisfying and productive life.


Set in the coastal community of West Palm Beach, Fla., Recovery Associates provides outpatient-based treatment programs for adults and adolescents struggling with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders. While the facility does not provide medical detoxification, clinicians may coordinate detoxification services for clientele through partnering facilities.


Before beginning a treatment program, clients first participate in an initial substance abuse assessment, and if applicable, psychiatric evaluation. The assessment helps clinicians determine an appropriate level of care. Although Recovery Associates provides outpatient-based programming, the facility can assist clients locate sober housing. For example, the facility coordinates with Pathways to Peace, which offers supportive housing for clients enrolled in Recovery Associates’ programs.

Clients who require a heightened level of care to obtain and sustain sobriety may be referred to facility’s partial hospitalization program (PHP), which involves 25 hours of weekly programming. To treat its clientele, Recovery Associates facilitates group, individual, and family therapy, 12-step participation, psychoeducation classes, and gender-specific process groups. In addition to evidence-based treatments, PHP clients may also participate in expressive therapy, guided yoga sessions, and spiritual counseling. Clients with co-occurring disorders may also receive ongoing medication management.

To personalize its treatment, Recovery Associate’s intensive outpatient program (IOP) is available in four distinct treatment tracks to best address each client’s needs and tailor treatment to the client’s preferences. Clients may enroll into a traditional, Christian-based, trauma-focused, or an expressive program. IOP clients attend programming three days a week, for a total of at least nine hours of treatment. IOP typically lasts between three to six months.

In all pathways, clients receive weekly, or sometimes bi-weekly, individual therapy sessions. Recovery Associates also offers specialized therapy groups for LGBT clients, adolescents, and those with eating disorders or body image issues. To address the links between irrational thinking and behavioral health, Recovery Associates utilizes a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).

In addition, clients may participate in hypnotherapy sessions. Holistic options, which are particularly utilized in the expressive track, include yoga, art therapy, and creative writing exercises, while the Christian-based track may incorporate worships services, devotionals, and Bible study into programming.


Recovery Associates’ treatment team includes licensed clinical social workers, licensed mental health counselors, and certified addiction counselors. The facility also consults with psychiatrists.


The sole alum polled by at the time of this writing, K.S., was overall critical of the facility. “This place is nothing more than a money maker…horrible,” they wrote. However, secondary reviews largely tended to rebuke this sentiment, though a few reviews also questioned the facility’s financial-driven motives.

On its Facebook page, which the facility can manage, 40 individuals gave the facility an average rating of 4.5 out of five stars. [1] Reviewers tended to praise the facility’s staff and
the diversity of treatment options. “From the counselors, the techs, to the management staff, they always had my best interest at heart and supported me through the toughest part of my life,” Samantha, a representative reviewer, wrote.

On, three alumni also offered positive reviews, each awarding the facility a perfect five out of five-star rating. [2] “Multi-tracks help ensure a person is able to gather the tools necessay for long term recovery…” one representative reviewer, wrote. Another alum added: “I am very grateful to all the support RA has provided me.”


The one anonymous loved one polled by at the time of this writing also praised the facility. Out of five stars, the survey respondent gave perfect five-star rating for the facility’s counseling options, the amount of family participation, the facility’s ability to treat co-occurring disorders, and the treatment staff’s level of experience and training. However, the survey respondent did feel that 12-step could have been incorporated more into programming. “Many aspects of the facility were great, but I was displeased with their 12-step program,” the anonymous loved one wrote.


Recovery Associates accepts most major insurance policies, including Aetna, Humana, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. However, the facility does not accept Medicare or Medicaid.

This facility is nothing more than a money maker only..they do not care for your loved one..if your loved one can't pay there rent in the sober living that they were operation.your loved one will be on the street .no questions son was from new York state with no family a parent please do your homework this place was the worst place I could have chosen for my child
