TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Treatment at NorthKey Community Care – Pendleton County Outpatient Services begins with an assessment by clinical staff members. Each client receives an individualized care plan. Clients are enrolled in services based on their needs and age.

Treatment consists of individual, group, and family/couples therapy. When appropriate, clients and families may arrange for a consultation with a psychiatrist or advanced practice nurse (APRN). Those in need have access to medication management as well.

NorthKey partners with teachers and schools to support children with mental and behavioral health disorders. The Early Childhood Mental Health Initiative is designed to enhance early childhood experiences and develop a child’s resiliency in the face of developing mental health disorders. School-based clinicians work with students, parents, and teachers to identify a child’s learning issues and help them improve their self-esteem and communication skills. In addition, parents are strongly encouraged to take part in their child’s treatment through family sessions and conferences.

The IOP track is designed for adults 18 and older who are seeking treatment for addiction. Beyond individual and group therapy, adults are engaged in educational programming that focuses on topics such as relapse prevention, co-dependency issues, and the stages of addiction. Clients are also given time to explore constructive leisure activities to help weaken the underlying association that substance use is required to have fun.

Aftercare support services are available to assist clients in transitioning out of treatment. Clients receive supportive employment services including help with resumes, interviewing skills, job applications. Clients also participate in community-based sober living support groups.
