ABOUT PROGRESSIVE HEALTH CENTER INC
Progressive Health Center, Inc., is a substance abuse treatment facility located in Zachary, Louisiana. It is a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) that also addresses co-occurring mental health disorders in adults. Progressive Health Center is among the 13 percent of outpatient centers with a PHP in the state of Louisiana.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Patients start treatment with a medical evaluation to determine their specific needs and what medications (if any) would be most useful. Progressive’s intensive therapeutic day treatment program specializes in the treatment of psychiatric, dual diagnosis, and addictive disorders. There are also education groups available.
Treatment at Progressive combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), group and individual therapy, and family therapy. Patients may also elect to participate in anger and stress management, community reintegration, communication and coping skills training.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The team consists of psychiatrists, licensed clinicians, registered nurses, and recreation therapists.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
The facility is located on a 12-acre lush green campus, with a ranch-house style facility. It accommodates more than 100 patients at a time.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
To date, a sole alum submitted a review to Best-rehabs.com. The reviewer gave high marks for treatment options and effectiveness, but did not have a good impression of the staff. He wrote, “Awesome. Strengths:Medical Weakness: staff.”
On Facebook, 18 reviewers offered the facility a 3.3 star rating.[1] Those that gave high marks praised the amenities, holistic offerings, and treatment. “I am grateful for any place that gives a person a chance to re-invent themselves by granting them sanctuary from the elements of self, to offer safety n clarity while a person has the opportunities to discover the fatal malady which only a spiritual experience may conquer,” wrote one alum.
A more negative reviewer wrote, “The staff were rude and are basically there for a paycheck and they don’t really care about the clients there. I’m sure it’s a tough job to have but they signed up for it.”
