ABOUT LIFEWAYS
LifeWays is a community mental health agency, a network of more than 40 behavioral health providers located around Hillsdale and Jackson Counties, Michigan. The organization offers a range of treatment services for individuals struggling with substance use disorder, mental health disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. It is amongst the only 223 (46.6 percent) Michigan treatment facilities with specialty-tailored programming for individuals struggling with co-occurring disorders. According to the facility’s brochure, interpreters for all languages are available at no cost to clients.
LifeWays is overseen by the Mid-State Health Network (MSHN), a network of 12 community mental health boards, including LifeWays.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Central to the LifeWays mission is person-centered care, under which the organization aspires to empower its clients to achieve their dreams and goals by focusing on their specific needs and preferences.
The Jackson location offers, among other services, a crisis prevention unit, where, after a screening and assessment, clients can be referred to one of the other facilities in the network. Crisis intervention services are available to any and all members of the community.
LifeWays works with medical doctors and other health providers to coordinate care across a spectrum of needs; this coordination is particularly important in the case of dually diagnosed clients, who might be participating in multiple treatment modalities. The organization gives very little further information about its program specifics, however, the single alum polled by Best-rehabs.com to date indicated that they received both individual and group counseling through the network.
