Workit Clinic Ann Arbor Michigan

We are patients as designers who created the world’s first online addiction care program. Fighting the opioid crisis – starting in Michigan.

ABOUT WORKIT CLINIC

Offering two locations in Michigan, in the communities of Canton and Ypsilanti, Workit Clinic specializes in treating individuals struggling with opioid dependency through medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and regular online support. Ambulatory detoxification (outpatient-based detox) is provided through the MAT regimen. According to the facility’s website, Workit Clinic will soon operate two more facilities in the communities of Monroe and Sterling Heights.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Upon admission, clients first participate in an online assessment and intake questionnaire. Once accepted, clients then receive directions to undergo a drug test at least three days before an in-person visit to the clinic. Once the client receives the results, the individual meets with a physician on-site for a medical examination. To accurately determine the needs of the client, Workit Clinic strongly encourages for individuals to begin the withdrawal process as much as possible, abstaining for 12 hours.

Through the information gathered through the intake process, clinicians can prescribe a recommended dosage of Suboxone, an evidence-based medication proven-effective in curbing opioid cravings and minimizing the discomfort of withdrawal. Unique to Workit Clinic, the facility administers much of programming online. Along with a regular dosage, which is prescribed directly to the pharmacy, clients participate in weekly one-on-one telemedicine consultation with a clinic physician.

Through these weekly teleconferences, clinicians are able to monitor the individual’s medical needs and treatment progress. In addition, clinicians create personalized treatment plans through an online platform. These individualized treatment plans include specialized recovery tools and styles deemed most beneficial to the client, why may involve recovery literature, assignment work, and other forms of recovery support. Clients also have 24/7 access to counselors and peer specialists for one-on-one teletherapy sessions. A free online curriculum is available for loved ones.

As the client progresses through treatment, physicians may encourage clients to slowly “taper off” the medication regimen. Through the weekly online consultations with the physician, clinicians coordinate with the individual to continually monitor and manage the dosage amount until the MAT is complete. The length of the program is determined by individual needs and progress.
