ABOUT EQUINOX INC – CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY COUNSELING CENTER
Located in Albany, N.Y., Equinox, Inc. offers outpatient-based treatment services for individuals struggling with chemical dependency, victims of domestic violence, individuals with co-occurring disorders, as well as homeless youth. The treatment provider’s Chemical Dependency Counseling Center serves adults and teens seeking treatment for chemical dependency and/or co-occurring mental health disorders. The facility does not offer on-site detox.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Equinox’s treatment utilizes a holistic, multidisciplinary approach along with 12-step participation, such as Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholic Anonymous. The treatment process begins with a comprehensive assessment to help individualize treatment. The facility also offers case management services to assist clients enroll into detoxification or residential programs.
During treatment, clients may participate in group and individual counseling, educational classes, copsing skills workshops, and assistance in navigating 12-step fellowship. Medication management and specialized group counseling may also be available for those struggling with co-occurring mental health concerns,
There is also a program for DWI/DWAI offenders, which includes an assessment and programming that that may be designed to satisfy state requirement for license reinstatement. The program is only available with an appointment and the appropriate paperwork regarding the conviction.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
Equinox has more than 200 people on staff including medical and specially certified substance abuse and mental health counselors. The two individuals polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave five out of five stars for the staff’s level of training and experience.
