ABOUT EASTERN SHORE PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

Eastern Shore Psychological Services (ESPS) is a regional, community-based mental health treatment provider that offers outpatient-based services to children, adolescents, and adults struggling with psychiatric disorders. One of four treatment locations, the facility in Salisbury, Md., in the state’s Eastern Shore region, also provides treatment for individuals struggling with chemical dependency or co-occurring disorders. The treatment provider operates facilities in the nearby communities of Easton and Princess Anne. The Salisbury facility does not provide detoxification services.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

To provide individualized treatment, clinicians initially perform a psychiatric assessment, and if needed, substance abuse evaluation. According to ESPS’s website, the biopsychosocial evaluation and a comprehensive report helps to identify “strengths, challenges, and recommendations.”

To address psychiatric conditions, ESPS facilitates individual, group, and family counseling sessions. Treatment is individualized, multidisciplinary, and follows evidence-based practices. Along with counseling sessions, ESPS provides ongoing psychiatric evaluations and medication management. The facility also offers case management to coordinate community support, services, and resources for clientele.

ESPS also offers a specialized program for DUI offenders that meets the State of Maryland’s requirements for potential driver license reinstatement. The 12-hour program consist of six weekly two-hour classes. If an initial DUI assessment determines that the individual is dependent on alcohol, a 26-week treatment program may be recommended.
