TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The treatment programs at this family-oriented counseling center aim to help clients achieve sobriety and develop the skills necessary to maintain a self-directed recovery plan. These programs are specifically designed for individuals ages 13 and older living in Alleghany who are also experiencing co-occurring mental health disorders. In order to be eligible for treatment, clients must demonstrate a sincere willingness to fully participate in their prescribed treatment plan. Priority is given to pregnant women who are abusing drugs and individuals using drugs intravenously.
Clients enrolled in counseling engage in cognitive therapy and a strength-based treatment model in order to develop healthier ways of living and thinking, ultimately working towards their treatment goals.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The counseling services are provided by trained therapists.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
An anonymous alum described the program as “well staffed,” but believed that the staff could have had more education. They also stated that their personal experience was just “okay” and that the program may work for some people, but not for them. Despite these reservations, the anonymous reviewer rated the counseling options available, the treatment for co-occurring disorders, and the overall effectiveness of treatment with four out of five stars.
Feedback on the organization’s Facebook page was more mixed. The agency has an average rating of 3.1 out of five stars from nine individuals. While one individual reported liking the program a lot, another felt that the agency does not take care of its employees and expressed disappointment with the agency’s claim of creating a “caring environment”.[1]
