ABOUT MAPLE MANOR- PORT ALLEGANY, PA
Maple Manor, located in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania, offers short- and long-term residential treatment to adults struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. It is one of 76 facilities in Pennsylvania to offer short-term residential treatment in a non-hospital setting. The goal of the facility is to empower participants to develop healthy and responsible lifestyles.
Maple Manor is part of the larger Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, Inc. which was started in 1972 through the collaboration of Cameron, Elk, McKean, and Potter Counties. When needed, detoxification services with a local hospital detox unit can be arranged prior to admission, though detox is not available on-site.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The facility’s treatment program follows the 12-step model of recovery as part of an individualized treatment plans for each client. In order to be admitted, clients must have a significant history of alcohol or other substance addiction. Clients must be free of chemicals for 72 hours prior to admission and must be both mentally and physically capable of caring for themselves. Clients remain in treatment for varying lengths of time depending on their individual treatment plan needs.
Throughout treatment, clients receive individual and group therapy as well as participation in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings. Families are included in the treatment program through family counseling. Alumni are eligible to receive aftercare services and follow-up planning is determined prior to the end of treatment.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The treatment team includes treatment specialists, a case manager, and a life skills worker along with residential workers and a food service worker. The staff to client ratio is one staff member per two clients.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
The facility offers 24 beds for male and female clients in a home-like setting. Rooms are semi-private and shared with one other roommate. Bedrooms are off-limits to everyone except staff and the client/roommate of the room. The facility is equipped with amenities for clients to enjoy, including a shared television, small library of movies, art supplies, crossword puzzle books, cards, etc., and sports equipment is available for use at certain times of the day.

At the time of this writing, there have been two individuals polled by Best-rehabs.com. Two alumni were generally happy with treatment. One anonymous client gave the facility four stars for the staff’s level of experience and training, discharge planning, and the likelihood they’d recommend the facility to others. “The staff is well trained and respectful. The food that was served was excellent,” they wrote. “Over-all in was a good experience.” The other alum, J.G., offered perfect five-star ratings for the staff’s level of experience an training and the respect shown to clients.
On the facility’s Google reviews page, the facility has an overall rating of 4.5 out of five stars based on four total reviews.[1] All four individuals gave a positive review of the facility. Alum C.M., who gave five stars, wrote “Maple Manor was an awesome rehab. The counselors are all wonderful & helpful, along with all the staff…” J.K.C.T., another alum, supported that viewpoint. She gave four stars and wrote: “Went here for rehab very nice staff and very helpful.”

FINANCING
The cost of treatment at the facility is charged on a fee for service basis. Daily rates at Maple Manor are $202 per day for short term or $199 per day for long-term inpatient treatment. There is a $10 per day minimum charge for co-payment/medical assistance.
A sliding scale payment plan is available for those that qualify, and the facility receives funding to subsidize treatment for low income uninsured clients in the counties of Cameron, Elk, and McKean. The facility accepts insurance including Blue Cross, Medical Assistance, Medicare, Community Care Behavioral Health, and most major insurance companies.
