ABOUT ADDICTION RECOVERY CENTER
Located in Hot Springs, S.d., Addiction Recovery Center is a private nonprofit facility, which make up about 53 percent of all treatment facilities in South Dakota. It offers intensive outpatient programs, outpatient treatment, and aftercare to adults, youths, and families who are struggling with mental health disorders, substance abuse, or co-occurring disorders.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
According to Addiction Recovery Center’s website, treatment begins with chemical dependency evaluation to determine if a person is struggling with an alcohol, drug, or gambling addiction. The evaluation is used to determine the appropriate level of treatment.
Treatment may include co-occurring groups, individual counseling, DUI classes, family counseling, gambling assessments, mental health counseling, outpatient gambling group, sober social activities, specialized relapse and criminal justice group, women’s continued care, and youth continued care group.
Addiction Recovery Center’s goal is to provide support, education, tools, and skills to clients so they can live a happy life. The treatment team utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, and offer groups and individual counseling.
The center covers a range of topics including the addictive cycle of addiction, post-acute withdrawal syndrome (PAWS), co-occurring disorders, family dynamics of addiction, relapse prevention, how to manage cravings, art therapy, the 12-steps, spiritual awareness, and community resources available. The treatment team also discusses the emotional, behavioral, and cognitive aspects of addiction.

Addiction Recovery Center’s website notes the treatment team includes counselors. The loved one polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave four out of five stars for the staff’s level of experience.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
Best-rehabs.com has yet to receive any reviews from this facility’s former clients or staffers. However, the four people to leave Google Reviews for Addiction Recovery Centers to date gave an average of 1.8 out of five stars. Individuals complained about the lack of evaluations and problems with scheduling. “They dont actually evaluate you, your assessment means nothing,” Mike wrote in a representative review.[1]
To date, the two people who left reviews on its Facebook page, which it has the ability to manage, gave five out of five stars with no commentary.[2]

The one loved one surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided mostly positive feedback for Addiction Recovery Center. However, they reviewed an inpatient program, which is no longer offered, but they gave four out of five stars for treatment effectiveness and called in a peaceful environment.
