Trinity Teen Solutions is a Catholic boarding school and residential treatment facility for defiant or otherwise troubled young women engaging in self-destructive behavior. By emphasizing Christian morality as a means of staving off improper conduct, Trinity Teen Solutions molds young women through the word of the Bible and Christian principles. Therapeutic techniques such Christ-Centered Counseling and Cognitive Restructuring retrain problematic thought patterns in young women and teach individuals to pursue a sense of moral action in communion with God.
ABOUT TRINITY TEEN SOLUTIONS
Trinity Teen Solutions (TTS) is a faith-based residential rehab that offers long-term treatment services for adolescent girls 12 to 18. Founded in 2002, the facility treats teens struggling with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and behavioral and academic problems. The typical length of stay is three to six months, and detox services are available on-site.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
After an initial consultation, staff members prepare an individualized treatment plan for each client. While the biggest emphasis is placed on embracing Christian morals and values through faith-based counseling, Trinity Teen Solutions also employs a combination of traditional talk therapy and experiential, hands-on treatments.
Counselors utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and rational emotive behavioral therapy. Additionally, the ranch allows for wilderness therapy, animal therapy, and equine assisted psychotherapy.
Family is strongly encouraged to participate in their loved one’s treatment, which can involve individual therapy sessions with parents and children, phone conferencing and regular updates on client progress. The facility also provides sessions based on various techniques of family systems therapy.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The team at Trinity Teen Solutions includes master’s level therapists, a registered nurse, several life coaches, equine specialists, and academic instructors. Some staff live on the premises. The ratio of staff to clients is 1:4.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Situated on a 4,000-acre ranch in Powell, Wyo., at the base of the Beartooth Mountain Range, the 14-bed facility has rustic cabins in which the girls and staff live. In addition to treatment programming and activities, girls perform ranch work and daily chores.
Of the 10 individuals polled on accommodations and amenities at the time of this review, feedback was highly mixed, with four reviewers giving one-star reviews, two reviewers giving two-star reviews, one reviewer giving a four-star review, and three reviewers giving maximum five-star reviews.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
Of the five alumni surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing, two gave the facility positive reviews. Kelly awarded TTS five stars for its treatment effectiveness and wrote: “The skills I learned there taught me how to become successful in the real world I wouldn’t have been able to graduate college or have a good career that I do now.”
Sarah agreed, telling Best-rehabs.com: “Trinity was an amazing place for me to heal… The therapy I received was very individualized and my interventions were very good for me to help myself.”
But the other three alumni gave TTS just one or two stars for its treatment effectiveness. KMR wrote: “Don’t waste your money,” while Claire described the program as having “highly unprofessional staff and therapy strategies.” And Melanie complained about false advertising, writing: “There was no animal therapy. Their website touts a 98% success rate, but that is not what I saw. There are other treatment options that are safe, regulated by the government, and are much more suited to help a girl who is struggling. I am stronger today in spite of Trinity, not because of it.”
On Google, the facility received an average of 3.4 out of five stars based on 12 mixed reviews from both alumni and family.
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
Reviews from loved ones were split — of the four surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing, two gave the facility positive reviews and two gave the facility negative reviews. Kelsie and Michelle both warned parents not to send their children to TTS, with Michelle adding: “They do NOT solve any of the problems your teen is facing- in fact, they make them worse!”
Garry and Arnold, however– both of whom awarded the facility five stars for treatment effectiveness– each told Best-rehabs.com that TTS helped turn their child’s life around. Arnold wrote that he would highly recommend the facility, while Garry noted: “My daughter truly believes that the treatment at Trinity saved her life and her soul.”
