ABOUT TRINITY TEEN SOLUTIONS

Trinity Teen Solutions (TTS) is a faith-based residential rehab that offers long-term treatment services for adolescent girls 12 to 18. Founded in 2002, the facility treats teens struggling with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and behavioral and academic problems. The typical length of stay is three to six months, and detox services are available on-site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

After an initial consultation, staff members prepare an individualized treatment plan for each client. While the biggest emphasis is placed on embracing Christian morals and values through faith-based counseling, Trinity Teen Solutions also employs a combination of traditional talk therapy and experiential, hands-on treatments.

Counselors utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and rational emotive behavioral therapy. Additionally, the ranch allows for wilderness therapy, animal therapy, and equine assisted psychotherapy.

Family is strongly encouraged to participate in their loved one’s treatment, which can involve individual therapy sessions with parents and children, phone conferencing and regular updates on client progress. The facility also provides sessions based on various techniques of family systems therapy.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The team at Trinity Teen Solutions includes master’s level therapists, a registered nurse, several life coaches, equine specialists, and academic instructors. Some staff live on the premises. The ratio of staff to clients is 1:4.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Situated on a 4,000-acre ranch in Powell, Wyo., at the base of the Beartooth Mountain Range, the 14-bed facility has rustic cabins in which the girls and staff live. In addition to treatment programming and activities, girls perform ranch work and daily chores.

Of the 10 individuals polled on accommodations and amenities at the time of this review, feedback was highly mixed, with four reviewers giving one-star reviews, two reviewers giving two-star reviews, one reviewer giving a four-star review, and three reviewers giving maximum five-star reviews.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Of the five alumni surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing, two gave the facility positive reviews. Kelly awarded TTS five stars for its treatment effectiveness and wrote: “The skills I learned there taught me how to become successful in the real world I wouldn’t have been able to graduate college or have a good career that I do now.”

Sarah agreed, telling Best-rehabs.com: “Trinity was an amazing place for me to heal… The therapy I received was very individualized and my interventions were very good for me to help myself.”

But the other three alumni gave TTS just one or two stars for its treatment effectiveness. KMR wrote: “Don’t waste your money,” while Claire described the program as having “highly unprofessional staff and therapy strategies.” And Melanie complained about false advertising, writing: “There was no animal therapy. Their website touts a 98% success rate, but that is not what I saw. There are other treatment options that are safe, regulated by the government, and are much more suited to help a girl who is struggling. I am stronger today in spite of Trinity, not because of it.”

On Google, the facility received an average of 3.4 out of five stars based on 12 mixed reviews from both alumni and family.

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

Reviews from loved ones were split — of the four surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing, two gave the facility positive reviews and two gave the facility negative reviews. Kelsie and Michelle both warned parents not to send their children to TTS, with Michelle adding: “They do NOT solve any of the problems your teen is facing- in fact, they make them worse!”

Garry and Arnold, however– both of whom awarded the facility five stars for treatment effectiveness– each told Best-rehabs.com that TTS helped turn their child’s life around. Arnold wrote that he would highly recommend the facility, while Garry noted: “My daughter truly believes that the treatment at Trinity saved her life and her soul.”

  • Do not send your daughter here. They blatantly lie to parents. They lied to my parents multiple times. They don’t tell you everything that’s going on with your daughter.
I have recently been a patient at trinity teen solutions for 5 months and it is not “abusive” and staff does not “belittle” anyone in any way. These children went into trinity out of control and left out of control. They “tie you to goats” and “give you chores” to teach you responsibility. The “chair” is a PUNISHMENT for bad behavior. What these kids aren’t telling you is how they didn’t try while they were there!!! It takes effort from them too, remember that parents that think trinity is “destructive”. This was an amazing, once in a lifetime opportunities for me to learn to heal myself. People please get your facts straight. Trinity Teen Solutions is a great place and it saved my life. Thank you for everything you done for me and my family.

  • When we found this facility we thought we had finally found the place to allow our daughter to heal. The woman we spoke to made us feel comfortable and assured that not only the staff but she herself would ensure my child is cared for. We decided to go with this facility and paid the deposit and hoped that our insurance would cover most of the cost (this place is very expensive). We brought our daughter to the ranch and I will be quite frank, as we were shocked. The location is beautiful, but the facility is not actually a facility. The girls do their school and counseling in two single wide trailers that look like they should be condemned. The owners live in a small old house right next to the trailers. Honestly the nicest things on that ranch were the owners vehicles. They had several brand new trucks ranging in price from $70K - $95K. At first I was concerned and thought that was weird, but after time I realized that this place is simply a money maker for them and not a place to truly help girls heal. After admission my daughter was seen 1 time a week by a counselor, yes 1 time a week. She did participate in groups, but most of her time was spent doing chores and trying to follow the rules of the ranch. These rules change with each shift of staff and no consistency. Trying to contact the woman we spoke to, after admission was very hard as she never returned any of my calls and seemed to be on vacation more then actually at work. We eventually took our daughter out of this facility and put her in another one that is truly meeting the needs of my child. I will admit I am concerned about this post... I decided to risk this review in the hopes that other families understand what they are getting into with this facility.

  • I was at Trinity for around a year, I was in and out of other treatment programs in the past that were not effective. I was considered a danger to myself through past events in my life that I didn't have the skills to cope with my trauma properly. Trinity was an amazing environment for me to heal, way better then a hospital type setting like I was in before Trinity. I still miss all the animals daily and my favorite horse there fuzzy. The therapy I received was very individualized and my interventions were very good for me to help myself. Of course I was resistant to the program at first, but once I opened up with the truth they really addressed my issues and helped me for the best. Trinity really cared about me and my family I've been out now for sometime, and I still keep in contact with the staff there. My parents are very grateful for what they did for my family. Of course everyone has their own struggles and no one is perfect but I believe Trinity helped me become the best person I can be. My therapist at Trinity really helped me and my family after Trinity while we still went to sessions once I returned home. I am glad the Woodwards for having such an amazing place.

  • Don't waste your money.
****DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE EVEN IF IT'S FREE!!!*** They do NOT solve any of the problems your teen is facing- in fact, they make them worse! In our case, they reasoned with her to the point of letting her justify some of her behavior. It felt as though they would only hear one side of the story, and gave very little counseling to us as the parents. I felt as though she was beginning to feel entitled towards me as we spoke on the phone, which none by the way was corrected by the therapist. The family recommendations were extremely vague, and something I read in every book. It did not feel personalized or tailored to us personally. We also felt the therapist was extremely condescending, opinionated and rude. There was Literally Zero Christian counseling involved. Please save your time and money and go somewhere that has AT LEAST 4 stars. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone looking for a change in behavior or a true Christian facility.

  • I sent my daughter to Trinity several years ago. She was there over a year and it was the best thing that happened to her and my family. I learned a lot as a parent during her treatment. Trinity helped my wife and I become better as parents to help my daughter become the amazing person she is today. She got caught up in the wrong crowd like most teenagers can find themselves easily doing. She quickly became out of control and was dabbling into to drugs and running away and was slipping up in her school work along. The biggest thing for me as a parent was that I wanted my daughter to be safe and get the treatment she needed. We tried several other treatment programs and none of them were effective. Trinity is so unique and the treatment they used really helped my daughter get over her traumas along with get her life back on track along with give her life skills in order to become successful after treatment and to become better in the real world. The staff there are very professional and made the small treatment program to be a extension of my family along with give her the therapy needed. I'm so thankful that there was a good alternative and a place to help my daughter and my family. I would highly recommend Trinity. I don't know where my daughter would be today if it wasn't for the treatment they provided. It's nice that Trinity is so small and they could give my family and daughter the individual attention we needed. I still keep in contact with Trinity and the staff there and occasionally go back and visit with my family and let my daughter remember see the place that had such a big impact on her life. Along with see her favorite horse at the ranch Precious, and her favorite dog Faustina.

  • sent my daughter to Trinity Teen Solutions in search of a treatment center that would actually be effective on my daughter. All the treatments before this were not effective, and didn't make matters any better. My daughter was going off the deep end on a fast pace with me and my wife both busy with our careers we didn't realize what our daughter was up to until it was too late. Like most teenagers she wanted attention and was going out of her way to get it. She was sexually active and was in to drugs at a very young and disturbing age. After she was constantly in trouble at school we had to take action. It was tearing my marriage apart and until we found Trinity we thought there was no hope and we were going to lose our daughter. The staff at Trinity was very professional and really took time to care for my situation. The education was great and the counseling really helped my wife and I realize what was going on and what we needed to do as a family to save my daughter. My daughter truly believes that the treatment at Trinity saved her life and her soul. My daughter will be graduating college with honors this spring. She already has a job lined up starting this summer. I thank Trinity for their help in saving my daughter and keeping my family together after all the years of stress and heartbreaks it has finally paid off and I cannot say enough about how thankful I am for Trinity and what they have done for my family.

  • Trinity was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was going down a very rough time before trinity. I suffered from some trama from past incidents in my life. I was suicidal and was starting to experiment with drugs. All of these things were happening when I was 15. I spent 18 months at trinity and it was the best thing my family could have done for me. The staff there really helped me find my actual identity and the treatment I received helped me move past the trauma in my life. I miss the ranch everyday it was my little safe haven where I had no fears of becoming suicidal again. The skills I learned there taught me how to become successful in the real world I wouldn't have been able to graduate college or have a good career that I do now. Trinity just didn't only help me but helped my family address the issues that needed to be worked on to make a better home environment for me to come back to after I graduated Trinity. I see some bad reviews about trinity on other review sites I was at trinity during those years and with those girls. I really upsets me that some of the other girls try to blame Trinity for the way they act, and make up horrific stories and lies when trinity is only there trying to help. This is my story and I am completely thankful all my Trinity sisters and staff for the continuous support as I keep tackling this journey of life.
