These services promote positive coping mechanisms and support enduring recovery.

ABOUT THE RANCH RECOVERY CENTERS, INC. – WOMEN’S TREATMENT SERVICES

Founded in 1972, The Ranch Recovery Centers in Desert Hot Springs, Calif., provides a comprehensive range of addiction and recovery services to adults. Our women’s-only facility, known as Hacienda Valdez, offers detoxification, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), residential treatment, and an intensive outpatient (IOP) program.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Treatment at The Ranch Recovery Centers begins with a pre-intake interview and assessment. Our goal is to provide the “least restrictive treatment setting appropriate.” To achieve this, our staff reviews clients’ cases weekly and involves clients and their families throughout the treatment process.

During detox, clients receive an orientation to the 12-Steps and, if necessary, medication to alleviate withdrawal symptoms. This phase typically lasts between three and seven days. Our residential programming incorporates a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities along with 12-step principles. Clients participate in individual and group psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, and educational classes on parenting, relapse prevention, and anger management.

Additionally, we offer PHP and IOP programs as step-down treatment or alternatives to residential care. PHP requires at least 20 hours per week of counseling, while the IOP typically involves nine hours per week.

We also have a three-day family program that enables family and friends over the age of 14 to visit. The program helps them identify the effects of addiction, gain a better understanding of it, and discuss how to foster healthy relationships. Visiting hours are every Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For women who have completed residential treatment, The Ranch Recovery Centers offers additional support such as sober living, aftercare meetings, and individual counseling.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

We have experienced counselors on our treatment staff. Additionally, we collaborate with a local doctor if a client requires prescription medication during the detoxification process.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Our women’s facility, which is less than 15 minutes away from the men’s facility, can accommodate up to 26 clients in Southwestern-style homes with shared bedrooms. Smoking is allowed in designated areas, but the use of iPods, computers, and cell phones is prohibited.

Our facility provides a serene outdoor setting with manicured lawns and scenic views of the San Jacinto Mountains. Guests can also enjoy a small playground, an outdoor pool, and a tranquil pond.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

According to alumni reviews, our facility has received highly positive feedback. Five out of six former clients have rated our treatment effectiveness an average of 3.8 out of five stars. One alum, Iris, stated, “I was scared to death when I entered this facility, however I was greeted with warmth and compassion. I felt safe and comfortable.” Other alumni emphasized the long-lasting effects of our treatment. A. wrote, “I still love it there and it feels like home when I go back for alumni meetings.” Heather agreed by saying, “A great place to get sober and learn how to stay sober.”

An anonymous reviewer, while giving high ratings, offered a single criticism: “An overall good facility, but could use more holistic options and better exercise and leisure activities.”

On Facebook, we have received 21 ratings that average 4.3 out of five stars. Most alumni have given us perfect ratings and expressed gratitude for changing their lives. Jay wrote in a representative review, “I will forever be grateful for the wonderful women, staff, and counselors of Hacienda Valdez! My life has truly been changed.”
