At The Carnes Weeks Center, part of the McCall Foundation, clients with drug and/or alcohol addiction work together with a counselor to design a treatment plan that helps them meet goals they’ve identified for themselves. The program includes 12-step meetings, individual, group and family counseling and also offers education to help prepare for a drug-free lifestyle.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Treatment at CWC is individualized, highly structured, and lasts for 28 days. Therapeutic activities include one-on-one and group counseling, family therapy, addiction education, and immersion in the 12-Steps, which forms the basis of treatment. Groups focus on topics such as anger management, relapse prevention, gender-specific issues, and trauma.
Experiential holistic activities such as yoga, drum circles, and movement and mindfulness practices are also offered.
Clients wishing to stay in treatment longer than one month can transfer to the McCall Center’s Hotchkiss House, which offers extended residential services that may last up to six months. McCall also offers 10- to 12-week intermediate residential treatment, as well as a residential program for men referred from the Department of Corrections.
McCall’s treatment team includes psychiatrists and certified addictions counselors. Both alumni polled by Best-rehabs.com gave the staff perfect five out of five star ratings.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
The 20-bed facility is housed in a stately manor along a peaceful residential street. Both alumni polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave the accommodations perfect five-star ratings.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
Of the four alumni reviews collected by Best-rehabs.com to date, all but one were overwhelmingly positive. Former clients gave the facility five out of five stars in almost all categories, including treatment effectiveness, accommodations and amenities, cleanliness, and the level of staff support.
Elizabeth was particularly impressed by the kind and committed staff, noting the careful attention they paid during a medical emergency that required her to go to the hospital. “The Director herself came by to see me, picked me up and dropped me off…The chef went out of his way to provide me with a special diet that was low or no sodium. He researched cirrhosis to accommodate me…I would recommend them to anyone I come across looking for a good rehab,” she told Best-rehabs.com.
Robin agreed, telling Best-rehabs.com that staff members were lovely and that the food was “phenomenal.” Jason also noted that one of the strengths of the facility was its one-on-one counseling.
Little information is available on the facility’s website regarding pricing. McCall Center works with most insurance companies and offers payment plans on sliding scale rates.
