ABOUT OPERATION PAR, INC.
Founded in 1970, Operation PAR, Inc. operates multiple substance abuse treatment centers located throughout southwestern Florida. While the nonprofit organization offers a full continuum of services, including detox, residential treatment, and DUI education, the center’s facility in Largo, Fla., exclusively provides outpatient treatment. The facility runs programming for adults and adolescents, and special services are available for the deaf and hard of hearing populations.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Prior to beginning treatment, each client undergoes a comprehensive assessment designed to help clinicians develop a tailored treatment plan that addresses the client’s needs, strengths, and goals. To be eligible for outpatient care, individuals must have a sober, stable living environment and must not be in need of medical detoxification services.
According to its website, Operation PAR’s outpatient program aims to equip clients with the support, education, and coping tools needed to achieve sobriety and stabilize all aspects of their lives, including their home, work, and school environments. Treatment combines individual, group, and family counseling, and both co-ed and gender-exclusive process groups are available.
Clients who need a more intensive level of support may opt for the center’s enhanced outpatient program, which offers multiple sessions each week. For the client’s convenience, outpatient treatment may be administered in person or online via the center’s eServices program.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
According to the facility’s website, Operation PAR employs over 400 individuals. There is currently no additional information provided by the facility regarding its treatment staff.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The four alumni polled by Best-rehabs.com indicated that they were generally satisfied with Operation PAR; each survey respondent submitted an average or above-average rating for the program’s treatment effectiveness. Two alumni specifically praised the facility’s treatment team, characterizing them as professional and supportive. “ I was determined and Par met my needs by addressing my underlying issues such as low self esteem, sexual abuse, abuse and other emotional and social issues,” Cassandra told Best-rehabs.com.
Cindy, the one alum polled by Best-rehabs.com to indicate that she would not recommend the facility to others, referred to the center as “a dry out facility,” and stated that she needed more time in treatment. “They did their job however,” she wrote.
The four reviewers on Citehealth offered mixed reviews and an overall rating of 2.25 out of five stars.[1] One alum gave the facility an overall rating of four stars and expressed appreciation for the care they received. “This place and the people who work there helped me save my life,” they wrote. However, the three other reviewers submitted average to below-average ratings and complained about various aspects of the facility, including jail-like conditions, false advertising, and questionable billing practices.
FINANCING
There is currently no information provided on the facility’s website regarding its costs. However, both CiteHealth and HealthGrove indicate that Operation PAR accepts private insurance and Medicaid. These third-party sites also state that fees are based on a sliding fee scale.
