Sovereign Health of Florida operates two treatment centers in the state. The Pompano Beach facility provides outpatient programming and community housing for adult men and women with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Please note that medical detox is not available on-site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The center offers a range of programs, including partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and general outpatient programming. Treatment begins with a comprehensive medical and psychological assessment to determine the nature of the addiction and identify any co-occurring disorders. Each client’s treatment plan is tailored to their individual needs, and the duration of their stay can range from 30 to 90 days.

Sovereign Health incorporates a combination of evidence-based and holistic therapies in its treatment approach. Modalities utilized during group and individual therapy sessions include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive remediation, solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), pharmacogenetic testing, and experiential therapy. The involvement of loved ones is also emphasized through family therapy sessions. On-site access to 12-step meetings is available. The center also offers various holistic therapies such as yoga, meditation, art, music, exercise, and equine therapy.

An aftercare program called Technology Enhanced Aftercare and Monitoring (TEAM) provides online programs and exercises split into three phases, with ongoing contact with a case manager. On-site continuing educational workshops and peer activities are also available.

  • Best clinicians, proper treatment A downfall was the signal distortion I actually started googling places online and I put in my insurance information .One of the recruiters called me. I have been in two treatment facilities before and I used to struggle with alcohol for about 15 years and I got to the point where I just couln't manage anything, couldn't hold a job. I was one job to another just kind of burning bridges and I could never really hold it together and it got really bad. I was becoming physically dependent on it and I could'nt get up in the morning without it. I couldn't go to sleep I had anxiety about being able to get it where I was going to get it how I was going to get it and I couldn't do it anymore. I was on the verge on losing my last job and I was fortunate enough to have good insurance and when the recruiters called me right away and Sovereign offered to fly me out here and actually felt that it was a hoax at first like what place can fly you there but it wasn't and that is how I am here. It is very individualized that cognitive behavioral therapy that I hadn't been exposed to sort of you know treating the individual for different environmental settings that you are going to encounter and not focusing about bringing up the past and digging up everything on a constant basis but more or less how you are going to do those situations when you encounter them again and you know what behaviors I am going to change and how I am going to move forward as oppose to living in the past. I really like that aspect to the treatment. Everyone is really friendly, everyone was very accommodating. They made me feel comfortable right away. Sovereign met my expectations in all areas and exceeded them and the clinical staff and my therapist has been awesome .I couldn't have asked for a better experience in that regard. The accommodations were great.I always felt comfortable. I always felt safe I was grateful for that. The group therapy was excellent. Again, I had never really experienced the CBT aspect of it but it was really kind of a eye opening as far as what I discovered about myself and I looked at things from a different perspective than I had looked at them before .My individual sessions I was always able to open to my therapist and I found it really beneficial. I really like the equine therapy that was something brand new to me and I thought it was just going to go ride horses and kind of hang out and it was a lot different from that. It was really neat .They have the registered therapist right on site and you work hand in hand with horses and it was definitely something worthwhile. You get here in a little bit of time to kind of get adjusted get a cup of coffee or juice or something and kind of get ready into it. Group starts right away and you know it is pretty steady throughout the day. It is nice because three days a week the option to go to the gym was really helpful to me. I really enjoy that and enough time at the end of the day to kind of unwind a little bit before you got a 12 step meeting and have some dinner before that and you know after you had a little bit of time to unwind a little further and kind of get ready for the next day. I think that you really well giving people an opportunity to get away from their environment and you know it was almost instant. They offered me plane ticket and how soon can you get to the airport was the first question they asked and you know I feel grateful for that opportunity and I think without that you know I would be in a totally different position today. I was able to identify some things in my life and character defects that I had that kind of kept me going back to that instant gratification and so I have identified a lot of things that I needed to work on and it gave me a good platform that I can continue to grow from once I leave. I wish everyone that if you want to get better and you want to put the work in that this is a really great place to be and everybody would be more than willing to help if you want to help yourself. Just stay open minded a lot of the stuff for me was really different and new and I was a little bit resistant at first but once I opened up to it and gave it a chance it was a really great experience.
