Tranquil Shores, located in Madeira Beach, Fla., offers residential, outpatient, and detoxification treatment to adults struggling with substance abuse. The facility serves the greater Tampa area, including Bradenton, Clearwater, Sarasota, and St. Petersburg, and offers a specialized dual diagnosis treatment option.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The facility’s treatment program follows the Integrative Recovery Model (IRM). To be admitted, clients may either submit an inquiry form via the Tranquil Shores website or may call the facility by phone. Most clients remain in residential treatment for 90 days. Outpatient treatment plans are available offering between one and 15 hours of treatment per week.
The rehabilitation program at Tranquil Shores centers around individual and group therapy. Therapy group topics offered are as follows: gender-specific, spiritual, alternative healing, expressive art, balanced living, didactic, process, and experiential. ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Tranquil Shores offers 24 beds for male and female clients 18 years of age and older in a luxurious beachfront setting. Each client has their own private residence with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living area. The campus is equipped with beach access, a pool, basketball hoops, tennis courts, a gym, and a group fitness room to increase the client’s comfort while in treatment.

Both reviewers strongly agreed that the facility is adequately equipped and staffed to treat co-occurring mental health problems and that the facility staff are experienced and well-trained.

When asked about facility weaknesses, one alum said the facility could improve the medical treatment options, which during their stay consisted of consulting a licensed practical nurse or going to an urgent care facility. That reviewer also added, “This is an amazing place. I can’t imagine having made the recovery that I have at any other facility. The staff is made up of caring and compassionate professionals. The therapy I received was intense and life-changing.”
