Twin Lakes Recovery Center

Twin Lakes Recovery Center Monroe Georgia

Twin Lakes Recovery Center is founded on the belief that long-term recovery is possible for everyone who desires and works for it. Our fundamental goal is to restore the individual to a healthier, happier, and more productive life, free from dependence on alcohol, addictive chemicals and destructive behaviors. We believe that each person who walks through the doors is a unique individual who has a very special set of needs.
Our practices are built on the disease concept of addiction. Though addiction is incurable it is treatable. We believe that the families are as affected as the individual; and when possible, the family system is addressed as part of comprehensive care. Fundamental to our daily practices is the belief that all people have equal worth. Our decisions are made on the philosophy that each person has an inherent potential for change and growth and that certain proven principles help us all move toward continuous improvement, deeper relationships and greater joy, even in the face of difficulties.
We will provide you with a meaningful treatment experience that addresses the whole person: Body, Mind and Spirit. We will do this without judgements or criticisms. We believe that by treating the under-lying causes of a substance abuse condition you can significantly increase your chances for a full, lifelong recovery. We acknowledge the paradox that recovery requires individual accountability and an ongoing supportive network. “You have to give it away to keep it.”
Twin Lakes Recovery Center provides a safe and supportive atmosphere and a staff well versed in the recovery process, which we see as a lifelong adventure. Past failures are not indicative of the potential to live a life clean of addictive substances. We value our contribution to the exciting process of helping people move from hopelessness to hopefulness.

Twin Lakes follows the 12-Steps and subscribes to the disease model of addiction. It uses a multidisciplinary approach that addresses the mind, body, and spirit, and to get to the root causes of addiction. Areas of focus include positive family relationships and vocational engagement among other elements of a productive lifestyle. Treatment plans, which are tailored to each client’s needs, use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and holistic therapies in both individual and group formats. Families can attend weekly education and process groups, where they learn healthy ways to communicate and behave.

The IOP is offered at a sister facility 40 miles north, in Gainesville, Ga. Treatment there focuses on identifying and coping with triggers, and building and maintaining healthy relationships.

Beyond IOP treatment, aftercare services include referrals to further therapy, 12-step programs, and sober living communities. • MMy son spent a month at Twin Lakes and began his difficult journey toward sobriety. The staff was very kind and helpful. The facilities were were clean and beautiful. His experience, and ours as his parents, was life changing. We were so grateful, and hold Twin Lakes in the highest regard for all they have done for our son and our family.

  • Pros: the facility and grounds are beautiful. The therapists are very good. The medical program was good. I felt like my loved one was treated very well. The programs were well designed. Cons: TERRIBLE FOOD. Every resident hates the food. I've seen it with my own eyes. It's horrible quality. Also, the mattresses are all thin, noisy and very uncomfortable (maybe to discourage people staying in bed)? Worst of all: my loved one was given a survey to fill out right before his 28 days ended - an employee walked him through the survey and told him exactly how to fill it in.

  • Staff was very nice and helpful, did a good job of explaining the disease and getting me to buy into recovery. Really enjoyed the aftercare meetings
We can not say enough good things about the work Twin Lakes did to help our son. The counselors were amazing and the one on one therapy just awesome. The location is beautiful and serene and our son loved the living situation and the food. Highly recommend this place to anyone needing help with drug addiction.
Need counselors that do one on one with the clients instead of placing them in front of computer to answer questions....
