Strengths: cohesive, belief in the 12 step process for all - whether addicted or not, care for others (staff and pts). Weaknesses: too much paperwork. I worked here for 18 years and most of the other staff on the addictions side of he facility also had a lot of longevity. This speaks of healthy staff and program as much as the program itself.

  • I don't feel the facility had a complete understanding of the depth of my situation. I was allowed to not participate, I was able to leave the group and cry alone in an empty room, unnoticed. No attempt was made to get to the root of my depression. I felt others had more significant issues. Strengths: Small groups, relaxed, peaceful atmosphere. Weaknesses: Patients not closely monitored enough.

I felt that my withdrawal from xanax was not properly handled. Giving me valium was just giving me the same family of drugs I was abusing. They really need to have a different protocol for those withdrawing from the benzo group.
