ABOUT PRAIRIE RIDGE

Located in northern Iowa and founded in 1969, Prairie Ridge addiction treatment center offers residential substance abuse treatment for adult men and women. The average length of stay is 28 days, and all residential programs and living arrangements are gender-specific. Detox services are not available on-site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Upon intake, clients are evaluated to ensure they meet the criteria for residential treatment as outlined by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Clients then receive a minimum of 50 hours of therapy per week, which includes group, individual, and family therapy. Group workshops focus on topics like relapse prevention, trigger recognition and management, tools for dealing with cravings, and the adoption of healthy, sober activities. The facility has specialized programming for gambling addictions and for women with children.

The facility’s full-day intensive outpatient program (IOP) runs Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are evening and weekend sessions available for those who work during the day. Outpatient programs are also encouraged, and residential graduates will often use Prairie Ridge’s outpatient services as a form of aftercare.

The facility’s program model combines 12-step methodology with a number of evidenced-based approaches, including The Matrix Model and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings are held on-site, although attendance is not mandatory, and residents can participate in 12-step meetings off campus as well.

The use of cell phones is limited to ten minutes during allotted time sessions, and family visitation is specified as Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare Reviews

This place is a joke! These people actually think naltrexone is a "Anti-meth" pill? Wtf there's no such thing as a anti stimulant pill. They claim to be the best in the state yet they don't even have a methadone clinic. Get with the times hicks!
Treatment EffectivenessPrairie Ridge in Mason City is a privately owned company that must be making quite a profit. Is the service they say they provide effective? I doubt it. I have known people who have used their services for the past 30 years. Not once was the treatment they offered effective. Not once. They are there to make money. Send your loved ones to a legit treatment facility if you really want them to be healthy. Even facilities that are for profit can be legit. Not prairie ridge. They are the only choice of facility in this area. If they had competition, they would no longer exist because they are a money making business only. They are fake.
Was a wonderful place. All the CA's are amazing. I just wish there was dental help. I'm upset and down on myself that I couldn't get dental help. I had to leave a week early.
