ABOUT COMMUNICARE

Communicare is a Kentucky-based treatment center that specializes in the treatment of behavioral health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse disorders. Established in 1967, the facility in Elizabethtown, KY, is one of the several locations across eight counties operated by Communicare. It offers a comprehensive outpatient program for substance abuse treatment, making it one of 315 centers in Kentucky providing this service.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Upon admission, each client undergoes a chemical dependency assessment. The first step towards recovery involves participation in codependency treatment. Communicare provides various therapy options, including individual, family, and group therapy, in addition to aftercare services. The dedicated staff also offers referral services, DUI offender treatment, and education based on the specific needs of each client.

All Communicare locations have the ability to refer individuals to the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), which is conducted three times a week for eight weeks. The facility is equipped to cater to clients with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders. While the IOP program offers family, individual, and group counseling, it may not be available at every location.

The chief behavioral health officer at Communicare holds a master’s degree in psychological associate. Unfortunately, no information regarding the staff at the Elizabethtown location is currently available on the facility’s website. Among these reviews, seven alumni have awarded the center a maximum rating of five stars, highlighting the staff’s kindness. FINANCING

Communicare accepts various payment methods, including Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance plans. They also offer a sliding fee scale for individuals who qualify. This payment option puts Communicare among the 228 facilities in Kentucky that offer a sliding scale payment option.

CONCLUSION

In a news report by WLKY Louisville in 2016, it was mentioned that a local lawyer was arrested for misappropriating a client’s settlement at another Communicare facility. This incident involved the death of a loved one due to choking in 2010, which occurred when the client was left unattended.

  • Patient care was good...I know they are a very good facility but my family member didn't stay long enough for me to accurately say how well they are. Just from the time they spent there the facility was a very good place.
