ABOUT ST. ELIZABETH HEALTHCARE – EDGEWOOD

St. Elizabeth Healthcare operates six main hospitals, including ones in Brighton and Falmouth. The Edgewood hospital in Northern Kentucky provides inpatient detoxification and outpatient programs for adolescents ages 13 to 18 and adults struggling with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders. The Edgewood hospital also offers inpatient and outpatient levels of care for adults with primary psychiatric disorders.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Before beginning treatment, chemically dependent clients undergo an initial individual session with a therapist lasting an hour. If necessary, inpatient detoxification is recommended to help clients through the process of withdrawal safely and comfortably.

Once a client is stabilized, they may be referred to the hospital’s age-specific outpatient programs, which offer individual and group counseling and introduce clients to the 12-step model of recovery. Additionally, St. Elizabeth Healthcare uses a family-based treatment model, which incorporates family counseling and family education into programming.

Intensive outpatient programs involve attending three meetings, three hours per meeting. According to the hospital’s website, outpatient sessions for chemical dependency are limited to 10 clients. Following completion of treatment, clients may enroll in aftercare programs.

  • The facility was great. It did not have all the luxuries of some places, but I feel you are not there for luxuries, you are there to get and stay clean and sober.
