Acer, located in Chalmette, La., offers care for individuals dealing with substance abuse including detox, outpatient and intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and aftercare. The center also offers an outpatient withdrawal management program and a specialized program for pregnant women.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Treatment at Acer begins with a free assessment and screening and is individualized to each client’s needs.
Outpatient treatment is individualized and includes aftercare groups, individual therapy, anger management and family sessions, and substance abuse education.
Intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lasts 10-12 weeks and includes group and individual sessions, 12-step meetings, and drug screens. Aftercare is available for one year following treatment.
The specialized track for pregnant women includes medication-assisted detoxification, OB/GYN care, and behavioral health counseling.
Acer offers weekly court-approved educational classes for substance abuse offenders. Courses cover how drugs and alcohol affect the brain, triggers and cravings, and the cost of offending.
Clients are subject to random urine drug screens. Acer also has a smoking cessation program and gambling treatment available.
The Ambulatory Withdrawal Management Program is offered on an outpatient basis with medication-assisted therapy and counseling.
