ABOUT MAGELLAN HEALTH SERVICES
Magellan Health Services is a provider of behavioral health services within the Louisiana Coordinated System of Care (CSoC). We offer crisis services and supportive psychiatric programs in inpatient, outpatient, and home settings for individuals and their families at all stages of life.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Within the Louisiana CSoC, treatment is provided in various settings. Those facing crises or severe and persistent mental health issues can seek immediate assistance from local emergency rooms, medical behavioral health clinics, schools, or places of employment.
For non-life-threatening issues, we offer a range of short-term program options. These include a psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) and a therapeutic group home (TGH) for individuals under 21 years old. Additionally, community-based psychiatric treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation services are provided by the Louisiana Wraparound Agency (WAA). Our programs also include counseling in problem-solving and basic life skills, aimed at helping children and teens navigate school and friendships. Medication may be prescribed by our clinical staff when necessary.
The CSoC also organizes support and training programs such as the Family Support Organization (FSO), where families can learn from those with similar experiences, and youth can learn from their peers.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
Our staff at the Louisiana CSoC consists of medical doctors, psychologists, advanced practice nurses, licensed counselors, and social workers.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Information regarding the living arrangements and related offerings of our inpatient programs is currently unavailable. However, based on the single survey respondent, our facility received one star for accommodations and five stars for cleanliness.
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
Although the single anonymous survey respondent gave one star for overall treatment effectiveness, they highly recommend our treatment and find it to be very family-friendly. Our counseling options and staff’s level of training and experience were awarded five stars, among other categories.
FINANCING
According to our website, the Louisiana Behavioral Health Partnership (LBHP) caters to both Medicaid-eligible and Medicaid-ineligible individuals.
