Maryland Recovery offers a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals who have recently completed intensive 28-day programs and may be at risk for relapse. With eight residential homes in Bel Air, Maryland Recovery provides outpatient programs that cater to those in the “second phase” of recovery. Our treatment is affordable and effective, focusing on alcohol and drug dependency as well as dual-diagnosis cases utilizing the latest proven techniques.
ABOUT MARYLAND RECOVERY
Situated in the colonial town of Bel Air, Maryland Recovery offers outpatient treatment and sober-living facilities for adult men and women ages 18 to 30, as well as seniors, who are struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Please note that medical detox is not available on-site. Many clients choose Maryland Recovery after completing a traditional residential rehab.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Maryland Recovery bills its treatment as “residential outpatient” because it combines outpatient treatment with sober-living facilities. The center offers a 28-day partial hospitalization program (PHP) with five to six hours of programming per day, seven days a week. Treatment modalities include individual and group therapy, medication management, psychiatric medical treatment, and aftercare planning. Additionally, there is an intensive outpatient program (IOP) which includes individual, group, and family therapy, family education, relapse prevention work, treatment for co-occurring disorders, 12-step meetings, and holistic therapies such as yoga, meditation, drumming therapy, and acupuncture.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
Maryland Recovery has qualified psychiatrists and addiction specialists available during Phase One, but it is unclear whether they are on staff or on standby. The medical director is trained in emergency medicine, and the facility employs two licensed clinical social workers and other counselors.

Details about living arrangements are limited. However, based on ratings from four Best-rehabs.com reviewers, accommodations and amenities as well as meals and nutrition were rated highly with an average of 4.75 out of five stars.

A single review from a former client on Best-rehabs.com gave Maryland Recovery five out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, accommodations and amenities, and meals and nutrition. The reviewer expressed gratitude towards the staff and claimed a positive experience.
On other platforms, feedback has been mixed. One Yelp reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with their experience, while Facebook reviews have been overwhelmingly positive with an average rating of 4.9 stars.
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
Three loved ones who were polled by Best-rehabs.com provided mostly positive feedback, with moderate to perfect, five-star ratings in all categories. One person mentioned the wonderful program and the support system it provides in Bel Air, while mentioning that the cost of treatment is not a concern due to the positive results. On YellowPages.com, however, one review was negative, claiming that the facility misrepresented their services and had a high cost.

Maryland Recovery accepts insurance carriers such as Blue Cross Blue Shield and Cigna. The facility’s website notes that insurers often cover the clinical portion of treatment but not the residential portion.
