ABOUT HENRY FORD ALLEGIANCE HEALTH SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES
Allegiance Health is a local healthcare network offering a full continuum of behavioral health services to individuals struggling from chemical dependency, mental health issues, and co-occurring disorders. Located in Jackson, Mich., the hospital and its Addiction Recovery Center offer short-term residential treatment for adults and partial hospitalization and outpatient programs for clients 12 and up. The facility also provides acute detoxification.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
To determine an appropriate level of care, clients participate in an initial substance abuse and psychiatric evaluation. The facility also operates a 24/7 crisis help line.
Designed to promote long-term sobriety, Allegiance Health’s residential residents participate in individual, group, and family counseling sessions, attend nightly on-site 12-step meetings, and participate in holistic therapies such as art expression. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), and Al-Anon meetings are available for the community to attend for no charge.
To better address specific issues, the program holds age-relevant sessions for adolescents and senior citizens as well as specialized groups for dual diagnosis clients. Allegiance Health treats a range of mental health disorders and maladaptive behaviors, including depression, eating disorders, anxiety, phobias, bipolar disorders, and schizophrenia. Medication may be prescribed for these disorders, as could Suboxone for opioid addiction.
For those who do not require 24-hour care, the partial hospitalization program (PHP) has daily programming for those with depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the facility sponsors transportation to programming for Jackson County residents.
The outpatient program focuses on group therapy, relapse prevention, and educational presentations, offering three-hour sessions in the morning and evening. Tobacco treatment services are available as a free service for individuals, couples, and non-smokers.
