ABOUT TAYLOR LIFE CENTER/OWOSSO A DIVISION OF CONSUMER SERVICES, INC.
Founded in 2004 and growing to a multi-million dollar nonprofit servicing clients in 27 different Michigan counties, Taylor Life Center offers behavioral health services to clients seeking recovery from issues related to substance use. The clinic in Owossa offers outpatient (OP) treatment to clients aged three and over. The clinic treats co-occurring disorders but does not any offer detox services.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Clients may undergo psychiatric evaluations upon entry into a program. Treatment is customized to suit each individual, couple, or family based on emotional and psychological needs. Most treatment plans will employ evidence-based modalities, including dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and psychiatric medications as needed.
Clients may also receive individual, group, and family therapy and receive counseling on special topics such as anger management and batterer’s intervention. Many mental health issues are also treated, including depression, PTSD, and eating disorders, among others. Adolescent clients participate in their own treatment group.
Transportation is available to and from the clinic and the client’s home.

The variety of professionals include a M.D. and D.O. psychiatrist, a CNP nurse practitioner, master’s-level clinical social workers, and master’s-level LPC professional counselors. One loved one polled by Best-rehabs.com rated staff’s level of experience and training a perfect five stars.

The sole loved one polled by Best-rehabs.com to date gave Taylor mostly positive ratings, offering four out of five stars for its counseling options, its cleanliness, its treatment effectiveness, its treatment of co-occurring disorders, and its family participation. Top five-star ratings were given to its accommodations and amenities, and its staff’s level of training and experience. Holistic treatment offerings received three out of five stars. On Indeed to date, 21 reviewers rated Taylor an average 3.1 out of five stars.[2] Current and former employees in general wrote that, though co-workers made for a positive atmosphere, upper management provided little support to employees. A former therapist wrote: “Enjoyed co workers but management had unrealistic expectations that were not helpful to clients.”
FINANCING
Fees are based on both services provided and clients’ ability to pay. Taylor accepts most private insurances. Both HealthGrove and CiteHealth report that the network accepts Medicaid, state insurance, and military insurance.
