ABOUT PINES BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
Located in Coldwater, Mich., about 60 minutes southeast of Kalamazoo, is Pines Behavioral Health Services, a community-based provider for persons with mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disorders. Separate outpatient services are available for children, teens, and adults.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Programming for children and teens is much alike. With the underlying goal of helping children, teens, and their families get healthy, Pines Behavioral Health provides youth access to psychiatric care, family therapy, respite, case management, as well as prevention-focused, intensive home-based, and wraparound care. There are also substance use services for teens in need.
Guided by the goal of helping persons “achieve the highest level of independent functioning,” programming for adults consists of assertive community treatment (ACT), peer support and recovery coaching, and individual and group therapy. For those struggling with a substance abuse disorder, the agency is host to a range of services, from prevention to early intervention to intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment. Specialized services are also available for women.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
Beyond its CARF-accreditation, Pines Behavioral Health Services does not provide any details on its treatment staff.
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
Awarding the agency four stars for treatment effectiveness, the sole Best-rehabs.com survey respondent to date shared details of a positive recovery experience. “My cousin was very comfortable there and we were aloud to visit once a week. And he got over his addiction. I highly recommend this facility.”
Yet Christy gave the agency only one-star and said a worker started an affair with her husband instead of helping him.[1]
FINANCING
Pines Behavioral Health Services accepts commercial health insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare, and offers sliding scale fees for certain services.
