TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Generally, individuals over the age of 18 can be referred to Turning Leaf Behavioral Health Services by a physician, mental health clinician, or a family member. They are also able to self-refer. Once referred, potential clients will undergo an admissions interview, either conducted via phone or in person, followed by a psychiatric evaluation. Clients who have a secondary co-occurring substance abuse disorder may be recommended for the facility’s Specialized Residential Treatment program.

The Specialized Residential Treatment program provides 24-hour staff supervision and offers primary and behavioral health treatment, medication management, and participation in one of three high-intensity axis programs: behaviorally complex, personality disorders, and medically complex. Counseling sessions, educational classes, ongoing medication management, recreational activities, skill-building activities, and community integration training are also provided. The goal of this program is to stabilize clients and transition them to the Supported Independent Living program.

In the Supported Independent Living program, clients live in supervised apartments and receive medication management, participate in recreational activities, engage in a six-level Skill Building curriculum, and have access to educational and vocational opportunities. Clients may also transition to home or community-based support, where staff members provide similar treatment services at the client’s home or other designated location.

Turning Leaf Behavioral Health Services Reviews

Facility focuses on mental illness. Not a good fit for substance abuse. My understanding is that it will only accept patients with a diagnosed mental health issue.
The teaching was exceptional, I have been to 8 treatment centers and Turning Leaf was on a much higher plane of instruction, so my last treatment center experience was the best, I felt relived leaving there, more secure in my recovery than an any other times. It was the fact that girls and quys can get treatment, but have a policy to be 10 feet away from them, no one on one hooking up, and I truly respected that. Don't quote me on the distance, I forgot, but overall I was given much better materials to learn from instead of the same ole stuff I normally got.
