Assisted Recovery Centers of America (ARCA), located in Town and Country, Mo., offers outpatient treatment and medically assisted detoxification to individuals struggling with substance abuse. The organization is headquartered in St. Louis and also offers two transitional living homes in the St. Louis area. ARCA is dedicated to providing a safe environment to clients regardless of what stage of the recovery process they are in.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
To be admitted, clients must contact the facility directly by phone or fill out a contact form on the ARCA website to schedule a comprehensive psychosocial assessment. Most clients remain in treatment for six to twelve months. Treatment at Assisted Recovery Centers of America usually begins with medical detoxification and is followed by ongoing outpatient treatment.
The facility’s treatment program uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and anti-craving medications. Throughout treatment, clients receive regular check-ups with a physician, nursing consultations, urine drug screens, weekly individual therapy, group therapy three times per week, family therapy as needed, and access to 24/7 crisis support. Participants in the program receive medication including Suboxone, Vivitrol, Chantix, Ondansetron, Topiramate, Amantadine, Buspirone and Modafinil. Families are included in the treatment program through weekly family support groups.

The treatment team at Assisted Recovery Centers of America includes an employee with a master’s degree in pharmacy, a registered nurse, and various other licensed and board-certified addiction professionals.
WHAT FRIENDS AND FAMILY SAY
The only loved one polled by Best-rehabs.com at time of writing gave ARCA a mixed review and indicated that they would not recommend the facility to others. The reviewer felt that a strength of the facility was the medically assisted addiction therapy, but felt that the facility could improve upon the staff’s level of training and experience, writing that there were few therapists with much experience. “very $$ focused.” The loved one wrote, “This is run by a husband/wife team. His focus is on Vivatrol.”
On the facility’s Yelp page, there is an overall rating of one out of five stars based on one review.[1] The reviewer said they would give the facility negative stars if she could. They wrote: “This place STEALS and LIES and CHEATS vulnerable people out of their hard earned money. It is a racket and is not to be trusted under any circumstances. Do not pay them a deposit! You will never get it back!”
