ABOUT PATHWAYS COMMUNITY HEALTH IN CLINTON, MO
Pathways Community Health, located in Clinton, Mo., offers outpatient and residential treatment to adults and adolescents struggling with substance abuse. The Clinton, Mo. location is one of several Pathways locations in Missouri and Louisiana. In addition to providing drug and alcohol abuse treatment, the organization also offers family medicine, dental, and mental health services to people of all ages. TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Pathways Community Health focuses on individualized treatment using evidence-based practices. To be admitted, clients must contact the facility to find a location for a walk-in assessment or to schedule a personal assessment.
Three levels of outpatient treatment are available. Level One, Brief Intervention, is an individual-based program that includes four counseling sessions and lasts four weeks. Level Two, Alcohol and Drug Awareness, is a five-week group-based program that offers ten hours of group education. Level Three, the Choices Program, is an eight-week treatment program that offers sixteen hours of group education and two individual counseling sessions. Residential treatment lasts no more than a maximum of 30 days.
Throughout treatment, clients receive individual, family and co-dependent counseling as well as group counseling, group education, case management, and co-occurring mental health services if necessary. Participants in the residential program may also benefit from medication-assisted treatment, trauma counseling, and transitional housing referrals when needed.
The Navig8 program is intended for youth ages 12-17 whose lives have been impacted by the use of alcohol or other substances. The program centers around 8 Dimensions of Wellness and places a strong emphasis on family involvement.

Pathways Community Health offers 16 beds for adult clients in a modern off-site residential treatment facility. The anonymous clients both gave the facility five out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, four and five stars for accommodations and amenities, and four and five stars for meals and nutrition. One alum said she believes that the facility is adequately equipped and staffed to treat co-occurring mental health problems, and that facility staff are experienced and well-trained. She felt that the support and therapy she received was a strength of the facility, and said she felt the facility could improve on family participation. She added, “It’s a wonderful facility. The staff there is very warm kind hearted and very caring.”

The anonymous loved ones gave the facility an average of four out of five stars for staff experience, four stars for cleanliness, 4.5 stars for family participation, and 3.8 stars for counseling options. The facility received an average of 2.5 stars out of five for holistic offerings, 3.5 stars for exercise and leisure, and 4.3 stars for affordability.
Loved ones of clients felt that the counseling, unity, and support at the facility were strengths of the program. When asked about weaknesses, one loved one mentioned that the facility looks a bit outdated and another said, “Not very clean, restrictions set for all regardless of treatment, biased employees.” Another reviewer added additional commentary, saying, “They treated my son’s drug addiction very professionally and successfully.”
