The employee assistance program helps employers, employees, and family members who may be struggling with substance abuse, family stress, or mental health disorders. The center offers interventions, screenings, referrals, substance abuse education, behavioral health consultations, and stress management training.
The specialized programs available include conflict resolution, sexual harassment awareness, managing workplace change, balancing work and home, anger management coaching, as well as documentation, discipline, and corrective action plan.
The facility’s prevention goal is to raise awareness about alcohol, tobacco, and drug-related programs in the community. This is achieved through evidence-based education programs and community-based prevention coalitions.
The prevention programs are also evidence-based and typically take place in a school setting. The classes teach students how to refuse drugs, resist drug influences, and enhance social skills.
The Southwest Council’s website notes the treatment team includes addiction counselors, substance abuse professionals, mental health counselors, and certified clinical supervisors.
