Hudson Mohawk Recovery Center, Inc. operates five treatment centers across New York, providing outpatient programs and supportive living for individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Along with outpatient programs for substance abuse, the East Greenbush facility offers treatment for problem gambling and specialized, outpatient-based treatment programs for adolescents struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Hudson Mohawk also offers gender-specific supportive living facilities and a day treatment program through its Troy locations.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
According to Hudson Mohawk’s website, the Outpatient Clinic provides comprehensive evaluations for individuals and families. Individual counseling is offered on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, and group counseling is offered multiple times a week. The intensity of treatment is based on clinical needs.
The center’s specialized adolescent program offers individual and group counseling. Treatment lasts 12 sessions over four to six months, with group meetings held once or twice per week. Treatment uses evidence-based modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational enhancement, to help address and modify irrational thinking and behavior. Gender-specific treatment for women clients is also available.
The gambling program provides screening, evaluations, individual and group counseling, educational services, relapse prevention, family services, and referrals to financial counseling. The treatment center also offers family counseling and has a crisis walk-in service.
The facility has grant money available for reimbursement of child care while parents are in treatment, and staff is available to help with vocational skills assessment and development, referrals to educational programs, and job placement.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
Hudson Mohawk’s staff include alcoholism and substance abuse counselors, licensed mental health counselors, masters-level clinicians, social workers, and medical personnel including nurses, a consulting psychiatric nurse practitioner, and a physician.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
While Best-rehabs.com has yet to receive alumni feedback to date, secondary sources revealed mixed opinions. On Google reviews, alum Sara rated Hudson Mohawk a perfect five stars, describing staff as “understanding” and “great.” [1]
In contrast, alum Golden on Yellowpages.com rated the center only one out of five stars, writing: “This place is an absolute joke. Counselors that have themselves only been sober a year etc.” [2]
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
The sole loved one polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided average ratings for Hudson Mohawk. They rated the center three out of five stars for every category evaluated, including the level of family participation, its holistic treatment offerings, counseling options, and for the staff’s level of experience and training. It should be noted that the survey respondent rated the Troy facility, rather than the East Greenbush location.
WHAT STAFF SAY
On Indeed, one former and one current employee to date rated Hudson Mohawk of East Greenbush four and five out of five stars, respectively. [3] In writing, they praised the client-staff interactions and compassionate care from managers. One wrote: “The people employed with HMRC are very pleasant. The managers try to accommodate individuals situations the best way possible.”
FINANCING
There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its cost. However, the one individual surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing rated the facility three out of five stars when polled on treatment’s worth of cost.
