ABOUT WILLAMETTE FAMILY, INC – WOMEN’S RESIDENTIAL

Willamette Family, Inc. provides highly structured recovery programs for men, women, and families struggling with addiction. Through several facilities located throughout Eugene, Ore., the rehab offers both inpatient and outpatient treatment, including this women’s residential program, which is known as the Cheshire Center. There’s also a residential program for men, as well as a medically monitored detox facility.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

All incoming clients are first assessed at the Rapid Access Center (RAC). RAC’s same-day services include evaluation, referrals, and immediate medical assistance, if necessary.

Treatment is individualized and duration of treatment is dependent upon each client’s needs. All residents participate in individual and group therapy, as well as educational programming. Clients also receive training on life skills, anger management, and relapse prevention.

Parenting education and coaching is provided as needed, and women with children up to the age of six may reside with their children on-site. For medical issues, there is a nearby, easily accessible primary care clinic.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The Willamette Family staff is led by a medical director and comprised of physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, counselors, case managers, and other mental health professionals.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

The Cheshire Center, located adjacent to Eugene’s scenic Owen Rose Garden, provides 24-hour care for up to 47 women and 14 children at a time. The residence includes a cafeteria, TV rooms, and space for exercise and recreation.

For women with children, the center offers a number of benefits, including an on-site child development center, three playgrounds, and an outdoor dining area.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The six alumni polled by Best-rehabs.com to date provided the women’s program with mediocre reviews. The center’s major strength appeared to be its family program and inclusion of children in the residential recovery process. “I think it is wonderful how much they work with pregnant women and women with children,” wrote Lori in a representative review.

However the facility received a low average rating of 2.3 out of five stars for its leisure activities, and the five former clients surveyed about the program’s holistic offering provided an average rating of just 1.6 stars. “It was pretty generic. All the way down to the food and the extra curricular activities,” wrote Anna in a representative review.

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

The two friends surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing offered positive feedback. Both respondents indicated that their loved one stopped engaging in addictive or harmful behavior after attending the program, and noted that they were able to play an active role in their loved one’s treatment process. “It is a familiar and successful facility with great success rates of graduates,” wrote one of the reviewers.

FINANCING

According to HealthGrove, the women’s program accepts military insurance and state insurance other than Medicaid.

They work with people of all types: young, old, male, female, light, dark, little and big. My counselor was great.
Willamette Family Women Recovery Center is the best in Oregon. I think it's full of wonderful people, but not the place to get treatment. I would recommend the facility.
This facility allows pregnant women and women with children to live in the facility while being treated. Children's issues are addressed through onsite therapy and parenting support. It is a familiar and successful facility with great success rates of graduates.

  • It could of been better, but it was what I needed. I think it is wonderful how much they work with pregnant women and women with children. They allow you to have your child with you in inpatient and that help a tremendous amount for those who really want to get clean.
