ABOUT EMERGENCE ADDICTION & MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Emergence Addiction & Mental Health Services operates seven substance abuse treatment facilities in Oregon. The Albany center, located in a residential neighborhood toward the south of the midsized city, offers outpatient treatment and DUI services for individuals struggling with problematic substance use and. are available for clients that complete the Threshold program as well.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The Emergence program is built around evidence-based practices, including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and moral reconation therapy (MRT). Alongside these methodologies, which are used in individual and group settings, the organization offers family counseling.
The Albany center offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) known as the Threshold program, which meets three times a week for a minimum of 12 weeks. The program is designed to help clients to examine the “roles, rules, and relics of unhealthy relationships” and begin reshaping their lives. Crucially, the center aims to empower residents to make their own decisions. Graduating clients are invited to participate in 12 months of continuing care.
The DUI program, Discover, meets once per week for two hours, with classes in the evenings, mornings, or weekends. It begins with a two-hour assessment of the client, followed by a one-hour services planning session to coordinate services for client and their families. Each service plan is tailored to the needs of each client. The program focuses on helping participants understand their substance abuse-related choices, how they affect them and others, and how they can make better choices. The length of the program varies according to the individual’s needs. Treatments will include group and individual therapy and therapy activities. Clients will complete a discharge planning session so that a sobriety and healthy living plan can be put in place.
