ABOUT CARON COUNSELING SERVICES
Caron Counseling Services (CCS), located in Wyomissing, Penn., is a treatment center that offers services for teens, young adults, and adults struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. CCS provides standard outpatient care (OP), intensive outpatient treatment (IOP), aftercare programming, and specialized counseling groups for issues such as gambling and sex addictions.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Before beginning treatment at CCS, all clients undergo a comprehensive evaluation to assess their physical, psychiatric, and psychosocial health. To be admitted, clients must be medically and psychologically stable. If necessary, CCS staff can assist with detox or treatment for acute medical disorders. After assessment, counselors recommend the most suitable level of care and create individualized treatment plans. Adult clients are required to attend a program orientation consisting of four one-hour therapy sessions.
CCS’s IOP program is the most intensive level of care, requiring clients to attend 9.75 hours of treatment per week for eight weeks. The treatment is based on the 12-Step approach and includes group counseling, family counseling, multi-family counseling, and individual counseling in some cases. Standard outpatient care lasts six weeks and involves a two-hour group therapy session per week. Graduates of IOP or OP treatment can participate in the center’s aftercare program, which offers support groups for former clients and their families.
In addition to substance abuse treatment, CCS also provides specialized counseling for codependency, sex addiction, problem gambling, and relapse prevention.
