ABOUT PYRAMID HEALTHCARE – LANGHORNE RESIDENTIAL INPATIENT TREATMENT CENTER
The Langhorne Inpatient Residential Treatment Center, formally known as Today, Inc., provides evidence-based, gender-specific behavioral health care to adults in Bucks County, Pa. Specialized inpatient programs are also available to women and individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Non-medical detox support is also available.
The Langhorne Inpatient Residential Treatment Center is one of more than two dozen Pyramid Healthcare facilities located throughout Pennsylvania, including Altoona Detox and Inpatient in Duncansville, which also provides medication-assisted therapy; Quakertown Men’s Residential Inpatient Treatment Center; and a Pittsburgh center, where inpatient, outpatient, adult, and teen services are available.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Clients are referred to the Langhorne facility through another residential Pyramid Healthcare program in Butler or York, one of more than a dozen outpatient clinics, or the agency’s mobile assessment service. Clients receive medical care along with education and psychotherapy.
According to the facility’s website, programming is based on 12-step principles, and residents attend Narcotics (NA) or Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings on-site. The daily treatment schedule is full, with limited free time as clients attend various individual and group counseling sessions, educational classes, and participate in recreational activities throughout the day.
Among the holistic and special-focus modalities offered are meditation and yoga, dual diagnosis treatment groups, and grief groups. The women’s program focuses on trauma care. Family therapy is also incorporated into programming.
Pyramid Healthcare’s website places heavy emphasis on the facilities’ individualized aftercare planning, which includes helping clients transition into intensive outpatient treatment and supportive housing.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
While the Pyramid Healthcare website indicates that its residential treatment facilities include medical and psychological staff, no further details regarding the Langhorne center’s treatment team are available. However, the two alumni polled by Best-rehabs.com to date awarded five out of five stars for the staff’s level of training and experience, while the sole loved one polled rated this survey metric with one star.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
The 70-bed Langhorne Inpatient Residential Treatment Center houses clients in rooms of two or three. The women’s trauma unit has space for 12 clients. Each Pyramid Pennsylvania residential facility has an on-site gym or designated area and equipment for exercise, and smoking is allowed outside. Pyramid also provides complimentary car transportation to the facility for the admissions process. According to a 2016 SAMHSA survey, the facility is just 8.1 percent of Pennsylvania’s 528 facilities to provide residential treatment.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
Both alumni polled by Best-rehabs.com each awarding four out of five stars for the facility’s overall effectiveness. Along with agreeing on the level of staff experience, alum S.S. cited many staff members’ personal experience in recovery as a strength.
On some aspects of accommodations, the reviewers differed, including the facility’s connectivity policies regarding outside communication and the availability or quality of exercise and leisure activities. They gave three and five stars for cleanliness and maintenance of the facility and indicated that the program was affordable and worth the cost.
Opinions posted on secondary review sites supported this positive feedback concerning the staff and successful outcomes of treatment at Langhorne, as well as concerns about the building and treatment environment. Eight Google reviews across two listings (for Pyramid and the original Today facility) were split five-to-three favorable to critical.
Negative reviews tended to criticize the cleanliness of the facility and the lack of staff supervision or availability. One reviewer also concurred with a low connectivity rating, citing restricted access to phone calls. On the other hand, another alum praised the excellent counselors and the food, though also implying too little outdoor recreation space.

CONCLUSION
