Tri-County Community Mental Health Center, located in Bennettsville, S.C., offers outpatient mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults of Marlboro County. TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The facility’s treatment program follows holistic and evidence-based best practices. Services and practices may include cognitive behavioral therapy, tobacco recovery, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interventions, and whole health wellness. In order to be admitted, clients should contact the clinic directly to schedule an appointment.

Adult outpatient services are intended for individuals ages 18 and older, along with their families, who are experiencing severe and persistent mental illness symptoms. Clients whose primary diagnosis is due to chemical dependence, intellectual disability, or other brain syndromes will likely be referred to more appropriate care providers to address their needs. Adult treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment and psychiatric evaluation to determine the extent of the client’s needs. Clients will then work with their care team to create an individualized treatment plan and goals.

Throughout treatment, adult clients receive individual, group, and family therapy along with attending wellness groups and receiving family support services. Other types of care offered at the clinic include outpatient mental health treatment, intensive family services, school-based services, on-site psychiatric services and telepsychiatry, nursing services, and limited supportive independent living arrangement services.

Child and adolescent services are available for both the client and their families. Services include assessments, individual therapy, family and group services, crisis management, case management, nursing care, and medication management. In addition, Tri-County also offers the opportunity to have a mental health professional stationed at a school to provide needed mental health services on-site to a student and not disrupt their usual routine.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The treatment team includes a psychiatrist and several other multi-disciplinary team members whose credentials are not explicitly stated on the facility’s website. It can be assumed that there are nurses and therapists who are a part of the treatment team.
