ABOUT A VISION FOR YOU HELP CENTER
Founded in 2010, the nonprofit A Vision for You Help Center (AVFYHC) provides substance abuse treatment for individuals over the age of 18. Based in the city of Edinburg, Tex., the facility offers programming that is faith-based and delivered on an outpatient basis. Detox services are not provided on-site.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
According to the facility’s website, clients are expected to remain in the treatment program for 90 days. During this time, they are introduced to the 12-Steps and receive individual and family counseling. Staff utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as biblical teachings as they believe the incorporation of religion gives clients a “healthier chance for success in recovery.”
Aftercare that is focused on relapse prevention as well as supportive programming for loved ones also is available through the rehab. According to its Facebook page, AVFYHC is court approved to offer additional services including life skills classes, parenting workshops, and anger management education.[1]
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The founder of AVFYHC, who is a Certified Faith Based Counselor, Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor, and Certified Anger Management Counselor, has been in recovery for more than 11 years, Many of the substance abuse and anger management counselors who render treatment at AVFYHC also are in recovery. This common experience with clients provides a level of understanding and compassion during the treatment process. At AVFYHC, participants benefit from a low staff-to-client ratio, which ensures individualized treatment and an attentive, available staff.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
Johnny, the one alum surveyed by Best-rehabs.com to date, awarded the center’s treatment effectiveness and accommodations/amenities the top five stars out of five. “One staff member in particular really knows what hes talking about, he knows how to relate to me because he as well is in recovery,” he wrote.
Additionally, each of the four Facebook users (a mix of alumni, loved ones, and staff) who left a review on the center’s Facebook page to date gave the facility five out of five stars.[2] Brenda praised one of the staff members in her review. “(He) is so supportive and really understands! He helps you see gods clear vision of what your going through!”” she wrote. It should be noted that the facility manages its Facebook page and can vet all reviews.
The two reviews submitted to Yellowpages.com also were complimentary.[3] Michael described the life coach he worked with as “awesome.” “My life has completely turned around, I am a changed man and now living a positive lifestyle,” he wrote in his five-star review. Another Yellowpages.com reviewer gave their experience four stars. “A place of healing and growth. Priced right,” they wrote.
